IMO the holyfield that beat Qawi the FIRST time would beat Tyson that fought Douglas, let alone beats the Tyson after Douglas if he pulled that Douglas fight off and didn't go to jail. Who was training Tyson? Was Tyson even training properly?

I think he was properly trained during the Ruddock fights and all. I recall he came in at like 217 for one of them which was the lightest he ever was in his best years.

But yeah at that time you just never knew with Tyson. I think in his book he stated that for the most part, he wasn't training right at all.

I believe Richie Giachette or something was training Mike at that time.

Yeah. And IMO the worse thing that could happen to Tyson was him winning that fight with Douglas. He would think he could continue fighting with half ass/no training. And if he came into Holyfield like that, he would surely be destroyed.

If the Tyson Holyfield fight had happened in 1991 it would have rivalled the thriller in Manila and possibly even surpassed it. It would have been one hell of a war

Based on what? What you saw in the Douglas fight? Tyson doesn't have the mental strength for a thrilla in Manila fight and based on everything we have seen, Tysons prime ended in that ring with douglas

Tyson had somewhat of a war with Ruddock twice. The point is: that fight would have started off with Tyson coming out fast and hard as usual and he would have shaken Evander early and then Evander's heart would have kicked in and he would have gone back after Tyson and there would have been some great exchanges. It was all but guaranteed to be a war.

ruddock is no holyfield. Holyfield would be pushing Tyson around the ring all night. Holy's chin and stamina was also better than Razor's. Also you are forgetting the fact that tyson lost that douglas fight, causing him to make some changes. Had he won that fight, he would not have made changes, thought he could go on with half ass training and fight holy and get his ass destroyed.

Tyson had sparred with Holyfield previously. He would not have trained the same as he did for Douglas had he beaten Douglas easily, as everyone expected, except Douglas.

Hardly anyone predicts 'wars' in boxing - they usually come out of nowhere.

Why has Sly voted 4 times for the Mayweather option?

Both Gatti Ward and Corrales Castillo were predicted ( correctly) to be wars

Yeah, I was excited going in about both fights because I knew they would be exciting fights.

I didn't expect to see arguably the greatest fight ever though.

I don't need to provide a source. Everyone who knew anything about boxing were expecting wars in those ones. Both Castillo and corrales only knew how to fight one way...apply pressure
