no doubt, CB is a good example. Dustin Hazelett would be one of the best. :hammert: You get alot of nerdy dudes in BJJ, kind of one of those sports you don't have to be super athletic to be good at. Very tactical too, right up the Power Nerd's alley. Its good to know you think Chael is hot MWS, I'll let him know, maybe he'll start wearing a speedo in the cageartie:
Hahaha, no I don't find Chael "hot" at all :: But objectively speaking, he's not ugly enough to be a power nerd. Indeed it is a shame that Dustin is not more cocky, he would be the ultimate power nerd. He looks like a programmer. Good point about BJJ too.
Couture is in a funny situation in my opinion. The dude is clearly still in great shape and hasn't lost much in his grappling and ability to keep people pinned against the cage. Unfortunately his chin is absolutely garbage. Even Coleman managed to stun him early in the fight. If Coleman had even a slight bit better reflexes he could have capitalized. I love Couture and am always amazed at his rapid following. I was in Vegas this past weekend and it seems like everyone loves Couture. Even with already long odds, even the betting money stayed with Couture. Personally I hope the guy keeps fighting. As a dude that post-40 myself, it's great to see him compete at a relatively high level.
I know the feeling Trplsec, its really hard not to root and like a guy like Randy. In a way you can't blame the UFC neither, he is still a huge name, puts buts in the seats, and gets ppv buys. I think what is becoming evident is the UFC so desperately protecting him. Coleman was a gift fight. His best win since he came back is Bonnar for fuck's sake. No business being on a PPV mainevent. Most think Randy lost to Vera. Then you have Nog and Lesnar losses. As a fan, I feel they are trying to convince me Randy is still relavent in the title hunt. We all know he isn't. Let him fight Liddell and Tito again. Just don't tell me its a PPV headliner.
Well, I have to disagree about him being a PPV headliner. I don't think he is Top 10 in the world at 205 or heavyweight, but as you mentioned, he still attracts viewers and live gate. In my opinion if an overwhelming majority of ticket or PPV-buying fans are willing to pay to see Captain American beat anyone up then he is relevant enough to headline a show. I think the thing about Couture is that he was just barely competitive enough in loses to Nog and Lesnar that people still think the old man can pull off the win. And then he fights to, what I think was a draw against Vera, and people start believing even more strongly. Hell, call me a whacky fan but I'll keep paying to see the old dude fight anyone.
