Keep feeding him trash and he will keep fighting like that. Move him up and ALREADY face him with: Shogun, Jackson, Machida, etc.

Anderson has already stated he will never fight Machida because they're apparently the greatest of friends.

Jon Jones would have a meltdown. He's not ready for Anderson IMO. Despite his skill, Jon would freeze in fear. He's a few fights away from fighting an elite fighter. His fight with Bonnar wasn't that good.

What has happened in the past to make you think Jones would freeze in fear? Jones is a game fighter and I think he would make a good go at it.

Do you really think he's ready for an Anderson Silva? You do realize the massive jump in quality here don't you? I'm not denying Jon Jones' chances but really...how many guys now did we feel could compete with Silva only to be humiliated and whipped? Jones is a few fights away I think. Still seems like a bit of a kid to me, kinda like Kendall Grove. Not yet fully a man. He's basically happy just to be fighting in the UFC from what I've seen of him.

Completely agree. I think Jones has enough athletic ability to eventually be the best in the world, but jumping up to Anderson Silva right now might ruin his chance of every becoming great.

He is a little green, but lets not ignore his skill and natural athletic abilities. Lets not forget that AS is no spring chicken either. This may be the perfect time for someone to swoop in and take advantage of it. AS may be slipping a bit. I think it showed last night with his inability to finish off Maia.

Im all about young, fresh fighters getting in there nd trying to prove themselves. I also think that Jones is a step up for AS in the LHW division compared to his last 2 opponents.

Also, I remember people saying that Fedor was too green to get in there with Nog. It turned out pretty good for him.

Fedor was the freak of freaks. Not sure I'm ready to put Jon Jones up there yet. Maybe 1 more fight against a very very good opponent before he gets a chance at Silva? Or maybe Jones is a freak and can whip AS right now as we speak?
    I don't know. I guess anything's possible.:dunno: I'm out!

Didn't mean to compare Jones to Fedor, just meant that anything is possible, you never know...

While it's difficult to defend Silva after rounds 3,4 and 5 I tend to agree with you. Anderson looked dangerous until he knew Mia was no match for him. Once he knew he had the fight in the bag he did nothing - put him in there against guys who will punish him (or at least make an attempt
) and we will see the real Anderson Silva.

The solution is simply with Anderson Silva. Whether it's at 185 or 205, just put him in with a tremendous wrestler. Sure Silva will likely win, but at least there's going to be contact.

A guy like Sonnen is the perfect matchup. Chael will get beat up getting Silva to the ground, but he will eventually get him there. And then Silva may still win, but he will have to fight to do it.

What a bunch of crap this card was.

First off, BJ won the fight. Edgar just moved around the whole, the punches he did land didn't have any effect. BJ clearly landed the better shots the entire fight. I seriously thought at worst it would be a 3-2 victory for Penn, if not 4-1. I thought it was a robbery.

Anderson Silva is a piece of shit. What he did was an embarrasment to the sport and disrespectful to Maia. Send him to HW and feed him to Lesnar. I want to see him get smashed.

I completely agree, Trplsec. I wrote on her a couple weeks back that Sonnen would be alot harder of a match for Silva than most realize. I honestly want to see Silva fight Belfort and then Sonnen. If he wins both, send him to fight Rua at 205.

That 50-45 Edgar judge should be blackballed. That was a disgrace to the sport. It makes the Machida-Shogun decision look good. The most biased man in the fucking room, Edgar's trainer had is 2-1 after the 3rd(not sure for whom, I assumed Penn) How the fuck did an objective judge score it 50-45?

I seriously can't see giving Edgar more than 2 rounds. He fought a smart fight but what did he really do? Are we scoring for good movement now?

    Pathetic.

Also, these same judges that allowed Machida to escape with the title, must have been here to tell these judges to score blocked/evaded punches.

There have been a run of bad decisions lately. Machida/Rua, Penn/Edgar, hell even Randy/Vera was bad IMO.

I didn't think it was that bad...maybe i need to rewatch the fight but i thought the last three rounds were all pretty close. Definitely a lot closer than i thought it would be....wasn't a great fight, but neither was Machida-Rua....they made a rematch there so why not here?

I agree, no fucking way he won more than 2 rounds.

I'm no BJ Penn fan either, I'm completely neutral on both fighters.

BJ won the first 3 rounds clear. I mean it really was just movement and failed takedown attempts from Edgar.

The 4th you could give to Edgar if you were being generous, and the 5th he won clearly.

You can't give any of the first 3 rounds to Edgar if you're truly being objective.

Fightmetric seems to agree with the consensus.

I'm still laughing at that 50-45 card. If someone doesn't go shoot one of that guy's eyes out it'll be a travesty to humanity. Corrupt ass bastard.

I'm calling it right now, fight was fixed. No way judges are that inept. That was Eugenia Williams-esque(who also was paid off, I'm almost sure of it)
