It happens far more often than that. But I didn't say it was a gameplan. Just my thought on how Toney could catch him.
We will see. Silva didn't kill Maia in the stand up but Miranda will? Doubtful. I didn't say Couture can't take Toney down. I'm just saying it won't be automatic like most people think. We will see.
I noticed that they have done that more lately. I think they actually listen to fans, who became more and more vocal about fighters laying on top of their opponents for five minutes (or holding), but really doing nothing at all to advance position. It´s like boxing fans complaining about holding since John Ruiz became a world champion. John Ruiz is retired now and nothing has changed. :bangh::bangh:
I just don't understand why even mentioning it. Why not just say he might catch him while they are standing. What the referee might do on an off-chance has nothing to do with it. They are standing at the beginning of each round, why not mention this too ??
Unlikely, but fuck I hope Toney knocks Randy out cold before he can even take him down. Penn won the first fight 4 rounds to 1 and got absolutely jobbed, he should stop Edgar with ease this time to prove a point.
this is ridiculous, the ref should get them up, Maynard is doing nothing save from controlling Florian
This shit is why I say MMA isn't any closer to 'real fighting' than boxing. You try rolling on the ground for 4 minutes in a real fight and see what happens. Or rather have a friend describe what happened two weeks later when you wake up from the coma after your opponents 3 friends jump on your head or his girlfriend stabs you. BOORRIINNGG..... War Toney! I believe in miracles!
The Diaz-Davis fight was ok but very sloppy as azazel said. These last 2 fights were lame. Micky Ward could show these fucks about excitement.
This is just gonna depress the fuck out of me. I dunno why Im watching. Here comes the sacrificial lamb to an inferior sport.
Couture should win obviously, but I still think that if James trained seriously, he matches up well stylistically well with Couture, I at least hope he doesn't make a fool out of himself.
Couture is a classy guy who respects boxing, he's a credit to MMA. But he's also 47 soon to be 48 and sooner rather than later, age will catch with him, I sure hope it happens tonight, nothing against Couture, whom, while I'm not really a fan, I respect immensely, but would hate for Toney to be remembered by so many as the fat guy who made a fool out of himself after talking that much shit
