Anybody who seriously believed that Bader is anywhere near Jones' level don't know how to evaluate talent.
I'm glad you posted that, well done. :bears: You're missing my point though. You always assume I'm hating for the hell of it, rather than taking the five seconds to process my point. Boxers take easy title defences ALL THE TIME, and they catch a lot of heat for that from fans. I don't notice anywhere close to the same level of outrage when a crappy fight featuring a crappy challenger headlines a cage fighting PPV.
Pacquaio/Mosley has been almost universaly slammed and rightfully so. Still, I don't think it's fair to compare Shane Mosley to Vitor Belfort. And I know that you know that. As recently as last year Mosley was arguably the top welterweight in the world. Mosley always comes to fight, etc... Belfort, on the other hand, was never good. His peak was what? 10 years ago? And back then he was a heartless loser vs. the best.
Mitchell, sure. Baldomir was the welterweight champion of the world, so I didn't have a huge issue with that fight. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I'm saying when it does, people get pissed off. It's not just here - I know a bunch of guys that love cage fighting in real life - and they're rarely critical. Some of you guys were actually excited for Silva/Belfort. I just don't get it?
Jones vs Bader was the main event for me on that card. A+ matchup. Griffin/Franklin was a C+ matchup and Silva/Belfort a B-
What? Who the hell considered Mosley the top WW in the world last year? I certainly didn't. I would have ranked at least 2 guys ahead of him without any thought and a 3rd without much thought. But it doesn't matter. The bottom line is that Mosley, at 39 years old with a 1-2-1 record in his last 4 fights is getting a shot at the best P4P boxer in the world. In comparison, Belfort was actually 6-2 in his last 8 fights with 5 of the wins by KO. But it doesn't matter. I think people are less harsh about mismatch title fights in the UFC because the cards are still entertaining and there is promise that something explosive will happen. It did. It was a good value. And really there isn't much debate beyond that.
Mosley was almost universally rated #1 after his KO of Margarito. That is until he lost to Mayweather... last year. So, a lot of people did. Come on man, how are you comparing Belfort's record to Mosley's? Belfort didn't fight anybody, unless you want to rate Franklin. Why can't you shoot straight on this topic? And I HATE Mosley/Pacquaio. This isn't the point. :: I don't agree with your conclusion. I think the UFC are incredible at promoting their product.
You asked what questions did the fight answer. The question it answered was who would fight next for the title.
Wait a second.. Me shoot straight? Are you trying to tell me that an overweight Sergio Mora was a 'Somebody'??? Slam Belfort's win overFranklin, but a brutal KO win over him is far better than a draw with Sergio 'freaking' Mora. Dude, look in the mirror about shooting straight.
Is RJJ talking in riddles, because he's lost me completely... Jones and Bader fight with the winner getting a title shot. How does than not decide something?
Wow, some people actually think this UFC was "good value" ? It certainly wasn't, I regret buying it except that bookmaker has live betting on it.
To each his own. I would be disappointed if I accidentally Pay Per Viewed a soccer game. I would probably dismember my own body as punishment. So I feel you for sure.
Rampage turned down a title shot and Evans got injured. It was a title decider by default not design.
Unless you personally know most UFC fans, you cant make that kind of statement. In this thread alone, proof was provided that completely killed Steve-Dave's argument about UFC fans not being happy about the matchup.
I can and did. Most UFC fans think the UFC does no wrong. What can't happen is you giving me my own opinions.
..... LOL, unbelievable. You can take it anyway you want I really don't give a fuck. If you think I stated it like a fact that's your issue not mine. So, once again you won't be giving me my opinions.
It is what it is. You stated it as a fact. Despite that fact that this is a small community of MMA fans and the UFC has been bashed many times in here, proves your theory false IMO. But if you want to go on once again, acting like some kind of authority on a subject, be my guest.
When someone says most that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. I think your interpretation skills are pretty bad. So once again, yes I will say what I want in the regards to whatever subject I am talking about. I really don't give a fuck what you think 1 way or another.
Hey dosta... you seem very busy lately - good to read you! :bears: What bookmaker has live-betting? or do you mean bookmaker.com? Do they have props after the fight started, like decision or just the money line? oh and @ steve-dave - PPV-worthy is only determined by what sells not by the match-up quality. If 500k bought the last UFC it would be stupid not to have it there.
