Well, I didn't see the huge power and chin advantage Franklin was supposed to have. If I remember correctly Griffin hurt Franklin but Franklin never hurt Griffin. Again, they are evenly matched and size made the difference. Plus, Franklin is an old 36. The guy has a million fights.
Yeah, he's old as hell. Even worse he threw like 3 punches per round. Plus Joe Rogan thinks he reinjured his left arm. I'll guess we'll see on the medical report.
Post fight presser has been funny so far. Some ridiculous comments and questions. Dana did announce that the UFC will go to Japan soon.
The boxing wasn't PPV. Sure, it was a let down. Still, on paper anyway, the boxing last week had one good match-up. This card of cage fighting had zero, unless you thought Franklin/Griffin was going to be good. :: The fact is, two world class guys fought on this card (Silva and Jones) and they didn't fight eachother. Can't say I'm surprised that it was another boring night of cage fighting.
I'm just going by the reaction here. You have to skip posts from guys like Godfather and Trplsec, who between them have never had anything critical to say about fighting in a cage.
i was real sad to see bader go down i wrestled him in HS a few times, really nice person. He was real humble despite how good he was
I thought the Cerrone fight was pretty good. Probably the best fight of the night. Cerrone has some really nice leg kicks. And the Silva and Taylor KO's salvaged the card imho.
Lets not go overboard here. Sure, Jones looked great, and could definately be champion one day. However, Jones striking is definately not anywhere near Ruas and Rua can surely be dangerous on the ground if it goes there. Jones Jones striking is not as good as people make it out to be, BUT his ground game is much better than I thought it was. It should be a great fight!
