Ok, I'm watching the fight again, and watching closely the 2 rounds in question, the 3rd and the 5th. The 3rd round was clearly won by Edgar. He didn't dominate, but he clearly won. Aldo landed the kick to the face and maybe two solid punches in the round. Edgar had the takedown, landed a number of kicks to both the legs and body, and landed a couple of head shots. He never hurt Aldo, but Aldo never hurt Edgar either. Edgar outworked and outstruck Aldo, he pressed the pace, and he won round 3. And in the 5th round, Aldo landed a solid punch in the beginning of the round, and the superman punch at the very end, and that's all he really landed cleanly the whole round. But Edgar tagged Aldo a number of times with punches, kicks and even a knee or two. Another round that Edgar won. Like the two previous rounds, he outworked and outstruck Aldo. After watching it again, it's even more clear the Edgar got robbed. TFK
Edgar should move down to 135 now or 125. I know he can take might mouse! That much I know! Do it Edgar !!
Overeem isn't a bum, but you might be right about Roy. He took a hell of a beating against JDS and came back to land some shots in the 3rd round. JDS had slowed down by that point, but Overeem would have been too exhausted to defend himself. It's still a stretch to say he can't beat guys in the UFC. I don't see him losing to guys like Mitrione, Kongo, Schaub, or Barry. I don't really know, though. He looked a lot better with the roids.
I rarely use the term bum. I absolutely hate it when describing fighters. I reserve it for cheating juicers. So, that being said, Overeem is a bum. And I never said he couldn't beat anyone in the UFC. I just don't think he'd be a clear favorite over any of them, even the guys you mentioned.
You and i have been saying Overeem is overated for years and that he never fought anyone to be even considered top ten.
