The Thing about it Is, Who Else is Going to BEAT Cormier @ 205, in Bones Jones' Absence???...Wouldn't Surprise REED @ All if Jones Ended Up Winning his Belt Back in a RE w/Cormier... REED:hammert:
Judo weigh-ins are same day? Never been to a Judo comp. That's revealing. If they were the day before, she'd probably do what most do nowadays, and that's make weight. I doubt she'd be dropping 40lbs to do it either. Looking at that and the steroid angle really lessens any sympathy I have for Cyborg to make weight. She, Cyborg, agreed to 135. She did that because she wanted the fight, which means she wants the belt, the money, the win, and the other benefits. Now it sounds like she doesn't want to do the work. She's clearly the bigger fighter, but this "Do it for the fans" thing sounds like a load of shit and bargaining in the media. Was she doing it for the fans when she was taking Masteron to shrink down and crush an already overmatched opponent?
Ronda drops from 150-160 to 135. Cyborg drops from 175 to 145. Also, she has agreed to drop to 135, but it's not for the belt. If she beats ronda, she isnt keeping that belt as she cannot stay at 135. This fight was never about the belt. And Im sorry, but when someone clearly out a division, they normally move up in fighting weight. Now, the 145 pound champ has to move down to fight against Ronda who really has nobody left to fight. Clearly, if someone is so bad ass that nobody can touch them in their division, maybe it's time to challenge yourself against the next level. But of course, this does not work in the UFC world and apparently to some here. Also, Cyborg said she will try and make the weight. She is working on it. She isnt backing down. According to Tito Ortiz, Cyborg was offered to fight rousey at Dallas later this year. Not sure how accurate that is, but we will see. But she is doing her best. I just think it's completely ridiculous. Fighting at 140 benefit rousey much more than cyborg IMO.
I think it is completely ridiculous for Rousey to move up. She is the champ and the best If someone wants to fight her then fight in her class I'd like to see her and cyborg as I've always watched both and they both have been dominate Thing is cyborg is bigger and fought in a crappier league with a bunch of bums.
Like i said, she cleaned out the division. So she should challenge herself. Ronda has fought bums too. Cyborg has not only fought bums.
They have both fought SOME bums but Rousey has DOMINATED ALL CUMMERS Cyborg as lost! And got mounted by cerano who is basically a bum
Cyborg lost her first mma fight, Anderson Silva had several losses on his record. That doesnt mean much man. Also, people say that Gina mounted her. Come on man. Cyborg practically picked Carano up and put her in mount position. Literally that is what happened. Cyborg tried to flip carno, but her technique was off and carano landed right on her mount. . She stopped carano in the first round who was in no way a bum and considered the best in WMMA at the time. Also, EVERYONE that Ronda beat, Cyborg would have beaten too.
That's complete horseshit. Rousey still has a potential huge fight with Holly Holm down the road. Additionally, if Amanda Nunes is impressive against Sara McMann tonight, she will also become a viable opponent. And Juliana Pena is back and healthy. She could be a huge challenge for Rousey. Regardless, Rousey could sell huge PPV buys if she scheduled a fight against Santa Claus. On the other hand, there is zero talent at 145. It's not that Cyborg has cleaned out a division. The problem is that it is a shitty, talentless division. Cyborg has not lfought anywhere near the type of talent Rousey has. It's not Cyborg's fault. 145 just isn't a significant division with the women. I think every other aspect of this Cyborg-Rousey debate can legitimately be argued from both sides. But there is absolutely zero debate about which of them NEEDS this fight more. And damn I am tired of hearing about Carano. She was nowhere near the talent of the girls fighting today. She trained like it was a part time gig. She rarely every made weight, and they basically had to create a division just for her and Cyborg. Now women's MMA has former Olympians, former college wrestlers, boxing champs, etc. The talent level is already heads and shoulders above where it was in 2009.
Rousey wont move up. She has the leverage. You are 100% correct about the level of talent each has fought.
Yep. And when Anthony keeps saying that Ronda feels strongest at 150? No fucking shit. She certainly doesn't feel best at 135. The only time she is at 135 is the day of the weigh in when she's dehydrated and drained. It's not like she actually steps in the cage for the fight at 135. Just more nonsense. And by the same token, Cyborg weighs in at 145 but likely steps in the cage closer to 165 then to 145. No no matter how you doing it, slice it or try to bullshit about it, 140 gives the advantage to Cyborg.
Yep. Amanda Nunes just destroyed Sara McMann. Nunes launched herself into title contention. I'd guess she jumps to the head of line to face the winner of Rousey-Tate 3. If not, maybe Nunes gets a rematch with Zingano for the #1 spot.
i just re-watched the Cyborg-Bazler fight.. just watch that and imagine her in with Rousey... different levels
you know, funny how in that fight Cyborg drops Bazler and thinks it's over... IMO this tells a lot.. look at this fight! Blazer is not Rousey but a LONG SHOT
I just read that UFC 190 did 900K PPV buys. I'm not sure Silva, GSP or Jones ever did 900K. Did they? If Rousey can sell that many with Correia, Dana might be right. Cyborg-Rousey could do 2 million buys.
