Ufc should create a 145lb division and have cyborg fight someone else for a vacant belt. That would pressure rousey to move up in weight to make the fight happen. As exciting as she is to watch, i dont care to see her beat tate again and theres really no one that comes even close to being a threat

Just not not sure why the UFC should create a weight class for a chick that has been effective at that weight due to PED's.

And why would Rousey feel any pressure? She been involved in a couple of the biggest events in UFC history. She is probably the most popular MMA fighter on the planet. Her next fight with Tate is planned for the same card as McGregor-Aldo, which means she will again be on a record breaking UFC card.

As I said, in the meantime Cyborg is fighting for scraps in Invicta in an absolutely talentless 145 pound weight class. No one cares when or who she fights.

In terms of pressure, Cyborg NEEDS to make 135 or risk wasting away in anonymity.

There are several girls that have knocked girls out like that. Also, clearly her striking needs to be desired. And most certainly does not have the best striking in her division, let alone WMMA.

And i got a hard time with a power punching assessment based off a temple shot.

Most people want to see it. It's really the only MMA fight going. We need an UFC 145 pound division and Rousey and Cyborg should meet at 140 to fight. No titles on the line. Just square up.

I like what Rousey said. She said if Cyborg can make 145 on steroids she can go off the roids and make 135

That same right hand from Ronda essentially made Tate quit in their second fight.

Tate also said there was no way Rousey would win by arm bar again leading up their second fight.

After being easily beaten twice by Rousey, I think Tate's biggest challenge is psyching herself up to believe she has improved and can win a 3rd fight. That can't be an easy task when she sees Rousey improving at an equal or faster pace.

Like Tyson, part of Rousey's success is that she puts you in difficult situations before you have a chance to even think about implementing your game plan. The quote " Everyone has a plan until they get hit." perfectly applies to Rousey. She's either flipped you on your head or punched you in the mouth before Bruce Buffer even gets to his seat.

It's so ridiculous for Tate, after already getting dominated twice...to talk any kind of shit whatsoever

Cyborg will get people excited but it's on her not Rousey. She needs to make weight and come fight a UFC fight

IMO if not cyborg then find someone else...not Tate. It's been done and was not even a fight

Agreed. With all the garbage Tate talked before she got destroyed by Rousey in the first two fights, she needs to train quietly this time.

And neither the UFC or Rousey have any pressure to make the Cyborg fight. The UFC is reaping the rewards of having the most buzzed about athlete in the world on their roster. She's a crossover star that can sell a shitload of tickets and PPV's for fights with a clearly outmatched opponents.

There are writers already ranking Rousey among the greatest fighters of all time.

Lok is right. If Cyborg-Rousey happens, the roided up shemale needs to step on the scale at 135. Rousey offers her the chance of a lifetime. If it never happens, Cyborg is the one that loses.

I dont think Cyborg should have to make 135 to have the fight happen. Particular when she has said she is willing to go up on weight to fight other people. If it's for the 135 title, sure. But just a fight that the fans want to see. IMO it's ridiculous not to make the fight at a catchweight.

This is the one flaw that Rousey has that is easiest to exploit. She is going out way too fast, way too hard, way too intense right now. It makes for great watching, but it's not smart.

Personally, I think Rousey should be a huge favorite over Tate, but I'd make her an even bigger favorite if she fought to win. Right now she is fighting to impress and blow out opponents.

Are we down to Holm and Cyborg as viable, sellable opponents right now? Holm actually brings something to the table Rousey hasn't seen, yet. Cyborg is the superfight.

Well and that is the thing. The champion has never fought in the championship rounds. If someone can keep their distance and utlize a nice jab on Ronda, it would be interesting. Holm can eventually get to a point where it's possible. Here striking is much better than rousey and she uses her legs like a jab. But Cyborg gives no fucks. She will go in there blazing and it will be a battle of chins and heart.

That's like guys that say "Michael Jordan never won a game 7 in the NBA Finals."

Which is absolutely true. He never needed one. Jordan was 6-0 in the NBA Finals.

At this point guys are nitpicking. Instead of focusing on what MIGHT happen, let one of these girls figure out how to last the entire fight. "Like I said before" the right hand Rousey clipped Tate with at the beginning of the 2nd round was the beginning of the end. Tate never recovered.

Tate is equal to Razor Rudduck at this point. Rudduck was more well known for taking two ass kickings from Tyson than anything else. His rep was built on two losses.

Tate is angling to make it three.

Rousey had a quote like that at the post fight press conference.

She said, "Me repeatedly beating Meisha has been good for both our careers."

The whole endurance thing is ridiculous. Rousey went out of the gate like lightening in the 2nd Tate fight and it was Tate that wilted first. As usual, Ronda addressed the stamina question. She talked about fighting judo tournaments where she had to fight 5 or 6 times in the same day. Then she said " I am an Olympic level athlete and Meisha was a high school wrestler."

mma and judo are totally different games in the stamina department. I have seen fat slobs go 5 judo matches and be fine. Tell that same guy to run around the block, he won't make it 500 feet

Same Ronda that said she is the best striker in mma and could beat Velasquez? Yeah, I disagree with her exaggerations, which she does often

It was a Tim Witherspoon-esque can-opener right hand just behind Correia's left ear that finished it.

Rousey's striking definitely left her open for counters, but Cyborg's a drug monster. If she wants the champ and the W, she has to go to 135. Otherwise she can keep taking pennies. Yes, Rousey's striking leaves her open, but Cyborg would find out really quickly that Rousey's a grappler on another level. She went through Correia really quickly because she simply overwhelmed her. Cyborg has crisper striking, but she gets dropped and leaves herself open as well. Rousey wins that fight, in my opinion.

Rousey can take a punch, but Cyborg will not be able to survive the clinch and takedown.

Fuck Cyborg. Bitch beat no one. Bitch is a drug abuser. Bitch is refusing to make the weight. Bitch never even fought in the UFC. As much as I dislike Ronda, there is no way that she should be even discussing Cyborg, nevermind meeting her halfway or even better giving into her demands. Just keep beating these bums, just like Roy Jones did in his time, clean out your weak division, retire, and keep working on your horrible, horrible acting.

I'm casual MMA fan. The first time I heard of Tate is when Rousey had her arm bent on a 90 degree angle.

The next time I heard anything about her was the second time Rousey had her arm bent back.

That is her claim to fame. That and being the only woman to get out of the first round against Rousey. Tate isn't as well known as Gina Carano was before Cyborg beat her ass.

Before Rousey, Dana White wasn't interested in women in MMA. Has their been a UFC PPV event headlined by Tate? I don't watch the men fight. I only pay attention when Rousey fights because she's the biggest star in MMA.

Man, watching fights hasn't been this fun since Tyson was turning everyone into cannon fodder. Rousey doesn't have his ability handwise, but the pressure she puts on people is reminiscent of how Tyson would just melt people with power, pressure, and aggression.
