McGregor is better off where he was. Not an ounce of sweat on him as he made his way to the ring. Too comfortable at the weight. Had a good 1st and Diaz was all bloodied up, but Diaz had no problem taking McGregor's big shots. McGregor was always going to come off second best when exchanging.

Well then Conor needs to stop flapping his gums about never quitting. Hopefully the God complex is gone now.

Even though Nate got touched up in the first, you still shouldn't underestimate Nate's boxing. One of the biggest factors in Conor's endurance meltdown is the number of big shots Nate made him him miss. Nate's range, long jab and head movement played a major role. And his ability to stay in position and on balance to throw back was huge.

Despite his antics, Conor always seemed like an intelligent fighter. But any idiot knows it's a bad idea to be in the cage with Nate Diaz with a depleted gas tank. They should also know you're not taking Nick or Nate out easily with strikes.

Connor got too caught up in his own hype. Period. He thought he could sit there And do whatever he wanted, without getting hurt or tired. Also completely dismissing the ground game of Diaz. The blueprint for Conor had now been set. I see many more losses in his future.

    Time for some humble pie!

I think they rematch and Holly beats her, that sets up the RRR rematch, and makes it even more intriguing because Holly showed she''s vulnerable to subs.

    Nonsense...

McGregor's STILL the Reigning Champion @ 145 and Lost to a Bigger Man, 25 Pounds North of that, on 11 Days Notice...McGregor vs. Aldo, Edgar, Pettis, dos Anjos or even a RE w/Diaz @ '55 are All BIG Fights...

Granted, Losing Doesn't HELP a Fighters Appeal, but Given the Circumstances, REED Doesn't Think this'll Have Much Effect on McGregor's, Despite What his Naysayers Think...

disagreed, McGregor (like PBF) aura was a lot about being ''undefeated'' (yeah I know he lost to Duffy, but that was before he was in the UFC) and aura of invincibility. He'll still be a draw but nowhere close as he was unless he can build another winning streak.

No Doubt it was a STUPID Move...

You Don't Allow a Commodity as Valuable as McGregor to Not Only Switch Opponents on 11 Days Notice, but Jump Up 2 Divisions in the Process...Conor's Bravery is ADMIRABLE, but his Braintrust and UFC are There to Save him from HIMSELF...In that Sense, they FAILED Conor McGregor Last Night...

The ONLY Thing it Makes REED Reconsider is McGregor's Talk of Facing Lawler @ 170...

Hopefully UFC has Learned it's Better to Simply POSTPONE a Card, than to Subject their Cash Cows to Spur of the Moment Matchmaking...

Last Night Proves How SMART Jon Jones Was, for NOT Fighting Chael Sonnen in the 11th Hour...The Reward WASN'T Worth the Risk...

Hate to Agree w/This, but there WAS Desperation in McGregor's Attempt @ Taking it to the Ground...& There was a Look of CONCERN in his Eyes, Moments Earlier, when Diaz Hurt Him...

REED & the Guy on the Bar Stool Next to His Gave Each Other a "WTF" Look, When Conor Went for the Takedown...Seconds Later, it was All Over...REED Won't Say Dude Quit, but he Clearly DIDN'T Like Where the Fight was Going, in that Moment...

I thought his taking it to the ground was his attempt at trying to slow the pace...obviously it didn't work. Honestly, I think he was out on his feet. That straight left caught him on the sweet spot of the chin.

Last night was a bit of history for me...the first time I actually BOUGHT an MMA PPV event and it was well worth the $60. The other undercard fights were blah, but the two main events were well worth the price.

It's been a LONG ass time since a boxing PPV can say that.

BTW...that smell that's in the air...that's coming from the shit in Dana White's pants after his two biggest stars got their asses whupped within the past 6 months. Toss in the rematch between Rousey and Holm isn't quite what it was this time yesterday. Rousey vs. Tate III is basically Tyson vs. Bruno II.

All Floyd Has IS his Undefeated Record, Because 1nce the Bell Rings, he's BORING...

    McGregor's NEVER in Boring Fights...

Given the Last Minute Nature of this Bout AND the Extreme Jump UP in Weight, REED Doesn't Expect this to Impact Conor's Appeal that Much...Now, if McGregor Loses his NEXT Fight, Then the Wheels Would Fall Off his Bandwagon...

Are You Telling REED McGregor vs. Aldo II, Edgar, Pettis, dos Anjos or Diaz II WOULDN'T Be Huge PPV's???...

    agREED.

Floyd never would have taken a fight with a middleweight if he had a full training camp let alone a short notice fight.

I thought the actual undercard fights were pretty great, but the main card seems like it was pretty mediocre up to the mains.

    Good Point...

Very LITTLE Chance of Diaz Passing, Having Taken this Fight on Short Notice...He Probably Had a Bong in his Lap when the Phone Rang, Offering the McGregor Fight...

don't get me wrong, McGregor will still be a draw, just nowhere near (in the near future) what he was previously. Unfortunately, it seems in recent years, mainstream fans are pretty much attracted by invincibility aura, and now Connor lost it. Sure he's way more exciting than Floyd, but so what !!! GSP was one of the most boring mtf to ever laced them up yet was a major, if not the major, draw (long winning streak) for several years, same for Floyd. Mainstream sports fans wants to take a beer, enjoy a "good'' time with their friends and (barely) watch Superman wins in whatever manner.

Now, I gave credit to McGregor for not asking for a catchweight, but let's keep things into perspective. Floyd has given as much, if not more, weight vs far better opponent than Diaz is. Canelo for example, is a far higher caliber fighter than Diaz will ever be (yeah, I know Floyd asked for a catch weight). The weight difference was significant but not out of this realm since Diaz is a samll ww and McGrergor seemed to carry the weight really well.

Considering WHERE McGregor was Coming From (145), WHERE he Intended on Fighting (155), WHERE he Ended Up Fighting (170) & the Amount of NOTICE He Had (11 Days), it's Safe to Say Floyd's NEVER Done Anything Quite Like This...

Nor Would he EVER Consider Such a Thing...

He Still Has his Aura of Invincibility.......@ 145...

McGregor Can Now Settle in and FOCUS on Being the Best he Can Be @ that Weight & Possibly '55...
