That's crazy Griffin won the 2nd round easy now you can make a case for round three being a draw but Griffin won that one too. Griffin was robbed all the fighters in the crowd knew it and so did most of the people in the crowd.
I think round 1 was a 10-8. Hell you said yourself that the fight could have been stopped. How much more dominant do you need to be without stopping a guy. Round 2 2 was clearly Griffens and round 3 could have gone either way. It was a close and competitive fight but I don't think Griffen won (although I was rooting for him). As For Sylvia-Arlovski all I can do is :jester: Arlovski is much more talanted but Sylvia has a better chin and has a lot of heart to. What a turn of events that was.
he's gotten KO'd a couple of times....anybody gets buzzed by a heavyweight with those gloves on, they're gonna get rocked....its the ability to bounce back that Arlovski lacks
I don't know. His eyes just rolled from a very light punch(looking at it from the camera angles provided in the replay). I just shudder to think what would've happened if Tim actually threw that punch with some beef behind it. Arlovski might already be dead.:nixweiss:
round 2-Draw? That could've been a 10-8 for Griffin for fuck sakes!:jester::jester: Please tell me you took a bathroom break during that round and never saw it. Either that or you were wasted.
The punch hit him in the thoat not the CHIN. I watched that replay 15 times after it happened because I was like what the fuck just happened here. I find it hard to believe you seen Arlovski's eyes roll from the replay's' they showed. Arlovski was not knocked out when he fell he went to get back up and tried to grab Tim's leg but Tim laid all that fat on Arlovski's back and started throwing girl punches, Arlovski was smiling the whole time and the ref stopped the fight. Arlovski just got caught in the wrong position shit happens.
Yeah, after closer examination it does look like a swipe to the left side of the neck/throat. But Arlovski's eyes closed from that punch and for a split second, went to sleep and woke up when he hit the floor. I'm just looking at the expression on his face. He got hurt from that shot, no doubt. Also, I'd like to point out that Arlovski made the classic boxing error. He lunged in with his right hand, that's why Tim caught him. You lunge in with your overhand right like that, a good boxer will counter you every time. Arlovski was just too far away and shouldn't have thrown that punch from that distance but he got overexcited I guess. But I guess shit happens.
Yeah he was too far away to land that punch, a slight mistake that cost him his title. I don't know if you have ever been hit in the thoat/neck but trust me it can make you close your eyes and it really doesn't have to be a "hard" punch. let's just say the rubber match will tell us anything. i'm not jumping on the "Arlovski has a glass jaw" bandwagon, I've seen him take some good shot's a stay on his feet.
Well I guess we could also say the impact was doubled with Arlovski coming INTO Tim's right hand so it created a more devastating punch. But I remember Tim saying in the pre-fight interview that he didn't believe Arlovski could take a punch. No matter, bring on the rubber match.
Yeah I don't think Tim can take a punch too well himself:jester: I hope they fight in the next 4-5 months
Well the big orge falls over when he gets hit good, but he recovers very quickly. Afterall, how many guys can take a good punch to the jaw from Arlovski who's wearing only 4 ounce gloves?
ECHO!!! anyway, Arlovski always makes for at least a decent fight, usually pretty good.....his willingness to stand and strike, coupled with his power and suspect chin make things fun I'd like to see he and Cro Cop gun it out....I think Cro may be a little too sturdy for Andrei
really didnt .... Cruz and Monson was nothing to remember....Evan Tanner pulled out a BEAUTIFUL triangle.....Ortiz and Griffen was OK, very tense, good energy in the arena, but the fight itself wasnt GREAT....Arlovski - Silvia was a very EXCITING scrap.....Diaz and Sherk was a good fight, Sherk is one of the most fun guys to watch in the sport, constant ball of energy.... Karo looked decent Overall, the card was about a C+ or B-
Tito Ortiz just looks worse and worse in every fight. Other than his crappy telegraphed takedown which doesn't work at all on elite fighters, he's completely lost.:nixweiss: It says something about your skills when a guy like Forrest Griffin is blocking your takedown attempts AND beating you in stand up. Ortiz will never win the title again at 205.
Hanzy, i hope you arent one of those guys who is gonna hate forrest just because he was on a reality show.....The fact of the matter is that Forrest has beaten and or compteted with some good fighters.....Sinosic for instance is at least a fringe contender, and forrest made easy work out of him.....Stephan Bonnar was on the rise long before TUF1, and Forrest made a great fight out of that.....and no matter how faded Tito is, it still says alot for Forrest to hang in there the way he did.....Dont hate on Forrest just because he got the easy road, he is deserving and will be a very competetive fighter for a while to come As far as Tito goes, if he was hurt, that says alot about what happened.....Tito has only lost to top level guys, thats the way it goes in MMA, guys lose, its not like boxing where you can make it to 40-0
Bullshit! He won round 1 and that was it. Rounds 2 and 3 belonged to Griffin easily. If it was a 5 rounder, Ortiz's ass would've been toast.
