Can't stop GSP's takedown's going by the first time they fought. GSP beats him again in a rematch after he beats overrated Fitch.

You make it sound like he dominated Penn. Its not out of the question that Penn get a win against him.

Penn is not the same fighter when he isn't a lightweight. He just isn't physically strong enough to fight with GSP. If GSP was a natural lightweight the fight would be a different story.

Penn is a great fighter, Sherk is a dumbass. I'm glad Penn beat his ass.

Johnson is a boxer and Silva is not. I think technique makes up for it.

Silva is a thai boxer. It's not like mma fighters have no idea how to punch.

Nearly everyone who trained, even moderately, in striking knows how to punch properly powerwise. The main difference between a boxer and mma artist is in the accuracy, speed, timing and combination of the punch( of course, the major difference is defense ), not in the power

No fucking way Silva punches better then Glen.

Silva's punches are pretty good for MMA, and pretty good for MMA compared to a world class boxer is still a huge difference.

Yes it was clear. Penn landed MANY solid jabs and a few right hands, controlled the range, controlled the pace. Sherk's aggression did fuck all, because he didn't actually land anything. Maybe a leg kick.

Sherk wasn't competitive in this fight at all, Penn fucking owned the ugly little roid monkey.

That's how I saw it - Penn just picked him off, easy nights work. Finished with a super knee.

Sherk didn't quit, the ref stopped the fight. At first I thought he was the one that said he couldn't continue but after the fight they said the ref was the one that ended it.

As for Silva Jardine, only one comment :

A few months back, people were hyping him and Houston Alexander... The hype ended pretty abruptly...

silva himself looked a bit surprised at how easy and quick that fight went. he also looked relieved of finally winning a fight in how many years?

anyhow, i hope he gets another shot at lidell and possibly win this time.

I sure am glad wandy won.

Penn - Sherk went just as I expected, I knew Roid Shark had no chance.

Wandy - Jardine though, I have to admit I was pretty fucknig surprise at the time

Jardine can fight, and wandy is all but shot, so I thought it was sort of a pick em fight, maybe with a slight edge to jardine.

Great win for Wandy. Enhanced by the fact that Jardine beat Lidell, dampened slightly by the fact that he got taken out just as quick by alexander

This fight pretty much backed up what i thought previously - a motivated 155lb BJ Penn is AT LEAST the equal of St.Pierre, Silva or Fedor. In fact I think he's the most well rounded, fluid, composed and the best to watch of any of them. :fightme:

I'm pretty sure Sherk quit. I don't think he responded when asked if he wanted to continue. No answer is as good as a no. Either way he was done for.

As for Jardine, he was never really hyped at all, it was Alexander who was being hyped after he did to Jardine what Silva just also did. Why would they hype Jardine when he was KO'd in seconds? His win over Chuck got him a little hype but nothing compared to the Alexander hype.

I think the 205 division shows that MMA is pretty much a game of human Rock, Paper, Scissors.
