Be honest, you want that big sexual chocolate morsel of a man all greased up behind you. I am coaching my son's football team again, just busy.

DC has won every one of his fights in SF with ease. I didn't pick him to beat Barnett but he made a believer out of me after that fight.

I agree, he's about 20lbs overweight if he wanted to be really lean but everything about him reminds me of a prime Fedor. He's deceptively quick for his size and he doesn't have any stamina issues so I can't tell him to drop 20lbs when everything he's doing now is working just fine. DC is a badass.

REED, you're being too harsh on DC. If you're not a believer now, you will be. I have no doubt that his future is very bright in the UFC.

Just read an article in popular science about Jon Jone's trainer Greg Jackson and how he uses numbers, mathematics as well as analyitics to train his fighters. He also apparently developed his own style of fighting called gaidojutsu (way of the street). Apparently Jackson is the single most successful trainer in MMA and his fighters win 80% of their matches so he must be on to something.

I don't disagree with any of that. I'm sure it's all true. But it's also true that he was the master strategist behind Guida laying a boring egg against Maynard and Carlos Condit running against Nick Diaz.

Sure, Condit was successful but Jackson's strategy robbed fans of what could have been a war.

Hell, his fighters do very well so I should probably shut up, but I just can't stand the guy.

Its bullshit that condit ran against diaz. Moving side to side isnt running. You dont outland your opponent overall and with power shots if you are running. Counter punching isnt running.

Fair enough. Let me rephrase. Condit ran more than he ever did before.

    Better?

No matter how you want to spin it, Condit ran against Diaz. He was effective countering and it was a great strategy because he exposed a glaring hole in Nick's game (footwork).

But make no mistake, this wasn't the same Condit that walked right to guys like Hardy, McDonald and Stun Gun.

Edgar and Cruz use effective movement and counters in ALL their fights. I say Condit 'ran' because it just isn't his normal style.

I don't have a problem with either of those wins. It would have been foolish for any fighter to step in with Maynard or Diaz and just bang. Both fought smart fights and deserved to win.

It was a smart game plan. But i dont think he ran because he was afraid. People run cause they are scared. I think he fought smart.
Also, going in there and banging with Diaz is a guaranteed six month suspension, cause he will cut you up. do you think condit was scared of Diaz?

Remember dude, Guida LOST to Maynard. You're out of your mind if you thought Guida deserved to get the win over Maynard.

    So the strategy sucked..

I never like to use the word 'scared' when it comes to fighters. You don't get to a UFC title shot if you're honestly 'scared' of fighting anyone.

That being said, I know Condit knew he had to run more against Diaz than at any other time in his career. I don't think it means he was scared. I think it means he employed a good, albeit boring, strategy.

My main complaint is the fight could have been great. It could have been a war for the ages. It could have been a Fight of the Year candidate. Instead it ended up being a completely forgettable snooze-fest.

By the way, this is basically the same disagreement Dana White and Roy Nelson have on TUF right now. White says it's more important to put on good fights and Roy says "Just win".

I guess it all depends on which side of the fence you are. Personally I'm with White.

I just dont get how you can consider it running when you outland the guy all around and in power punches. I wasnt bored with the fight. I loved the fight.

I said he deserved to win, the last round was the only round I thought he didn't engage. he played it too safe in the last round. He outstruck Maynard throughout the whole fight.

I like exciting fights too, but this isn't Toughman. There's some strategy involved and if the other guy can't deal with an opponent that moves and hits, that's on him to adjust and solve the riddle.
