I'm confident that JDS will win. He can take whatever Overeem throws at him with his granite chin. All he needs to do is land one big shot and it's lights out. Overeem doesn't have the cardio to drag him into deep waters and wear him out like Velasquez did.

I'd pick RDA if I was betting, but I'm pulling for Cowboy.

The roids gave him extra power too, not just confidence. He could go all out and knock out almost anyone with that kind of power along with his kickboxing skills. Post-steroid Overeem goes all out, gasses, and gets knocked out when his opponent can handle his power. He's looked tentative lately after getting knocked out by guys like Browne and Rothwell.

I forgot Marquardt is fighting again. I'll probably skip that one. He was one of my all time favorite fighters, but he's really past it at this point. I don't want to see him get destroyed again by a guy he'd beat in his prime. The UFC shouldn't have given him a fight this soon after the beating he took a few months ago.

I'm rooting for Nate Diaz like always. I've got a bad feeling about this fight too. Nate is young but I get the feeling his best fights might be behind him already. I'm hoping to be proven wrong.

Not only that, but it gave him the strenght to control the body of his opponents. Even against Lesnar he was pushing him around and controlling where tha action was taking place.

Lesnar was an obvious juicer too. He just quit and followed the rules once he joined the UFC. Overeem was at his juicing peak for that fight. It would have been a fair fight if they were both clean, or if they were both on steroids.

I don't believe this for a second. They both were juice flowers, and they were both equally ''clean'' for this fight.

Lesnar's physique changed dramatically when he joined the UFC. Look at his body pictures as WWE champion, and compare those to when he was UFC champ. He got noticeably softer and weaker just like Overeem has recently.

His body changed because he had to lose weight because of the weight limit in the UFC. He still was on the gear, but he was probably taking roids that don't make you gain a lot. ANd saying he was weaker after joining the ufc is based on nothing, since his only fight before that was against soft touch Kim

I meant he was weaker than he was when he was doing fake fights for the WWE. He lost a lot of weight for MMA and gained body fat at the same time. That's what happens when you get off steroids.

not necessarly. it could means that he changed the kind of roids that he took. Not all roids make you have a hard rock body. Depending on what you eat, sOme make you look flabby but stronger. And saying that he was stronger in his WWE days is absurd, since we have nothing to base this on.

I just think that from my experience as a long time steroid user. Steroids that make you look flabbier but stronger also make you much heavier at the same time. Deca, anadrol, things like that. They make you look bloated and fat, but at the same time you've gained weight and strength. Steroids that people use to cut weight also give the effect of a chiselled physique. Anavar, masteron, things like that.

I think he was stronger in his earlier WWE days based on his appearance and size. Stronger meaning the weight he could lift in the gym, not stronger in his actual fighting skills.

I've used quite a few roids in my life also. Deca doesn't make you gain a lot of weight. In fact, if I had to wager, i'd say that he was taking something that's close to deca (not deca per se, since it is detectable for way too long), since it gives you strenght, while not making you gain a lot of mass. And it does tend to give you a flabby look if you eat a lot of carb (like I assume a hw fighter would do)

NPP? I never tried that. I'm not a professional athlete, so I don't have to worry about detection times.

Same thing here. But I read somewhere that it is pretty easy for a chemist to modify well known steroid by slightly changing the chemical composition of it, which makes them undetectable. If i'm not mistaken, that's what Conte was doing. Anyway, some Oral steroids are undectectable 4 days after you stop using them. Which makes it pretty much impossible to get caught using them

They're always coming up with new undetectable steroids. They're undetectable until people find out about them and develop special tests for them. Like with THG, "the clear". That was a big thing in baseball when they found out about it.

Powerful oral steroids are still legal now because the laws haven't caught up to them yet. I guess anyone could be taking them. Athletic organizations usually ban new designer steroids before they're actually banned by law.

yep, that's why I think that banning roids in sport is useless.

It's an unpopular opinion, but I think MMA should go the way of pro bodybuilding. Have "natural" events with strict testing, and have untested events where people can use whatever drugs they want. Let guys like prime Wanderlei take what they want and compete against other people taking what they want. Steroids weren't an unfair advantage in organizations like Pride where they said anything goes. I don't think there's a chance in hell of untested events happening in the US with the political situation the way it is now.

"Natural" or not, banning recreational drugs like weed is ridiculous. Nick Diaz is a natural athlete as far as I know. He doesn't take steroids; he just likes to get high in his free time. No one should be banned from fighting because they like to get high when they're not fighting.

Watched the weigh ins. Hilarious seeing the shrunken Overeem with stretch marks. But, Junior looks smaller than he did pre new testing as well. Dos Anjos is in great shape but also doesn't look nearly as bulky.

Overeem looks out of shape. Dos Santos isn't as surprising because he had issues with Velasquez's stamina, and he knew he would have to get smaller to gain more endurance. Too much muscle does not make for a fighter who can go 5 rounds at a fast pace.

Damn Nate just gave Michael Johnson a boxing lesson. Johnson did the same thing Cerrone did against Diaz. He got sucked into the bravado of the fight and played right into Nate's superior range and boxing.

damn, for all these years I said that the Reem would wreck Dos Santos. ANd yet, when the fight finally arrives, I changed my pick, cause I tought that getting off the roids was very detrimental to Overeem. It shows the difference between a K1 level fighter and a MMA level fighter

nah, you said that it was an even money fight, which is a far cry from predicting that the Reem would crush him like a bug
