Which snooze fests? The only recent one is the Wlad fight, disgrace that it was.

This year, no MMA fight has come close to beign as good as the 3 fights that I mentioned.

Although I've been watching MMA since UFC 1, I just like boxing more, by a fucking mile.

He did say that round 3 of Le-Shamrock was like Corrales-Castillo round 10. Even TFK wouldn't agree with that.

Fuck me, yes he did

You're right, even TFK wouldn't agree with that. Shit, even Cungle himself probably wouldn't agree with that, or Rogan even.

I think boxing is better. Sherk ducked Cintron and now Silva ducked RJJ.

Watching UFC 82 after watching Vazquez-Marquez 3 was like boning a model then watching Nascar.

Agreed. I did the same thing, watched UFC afterwards, and it seemed so fucking dull and sloppy in comparison.

I stopped following the thread when you started posting undercard results. I didn't want to know incase they showed any of the fights.

Thanks for ruining the Speers fight for me.

Actually, with boxing, you get boxing. With MMA, you get striking, kicks, takedowns, submissions, wrestling, etc, etc, etc.

So watching boxing is like sitting down for dinner and having a great steak. Watching MMA is like sitting down for dinner and having a great steak, with a Lobster Tail, potatoes, soup, a salad, rice, some ice cream and washing it down with a cold beer.

Both are great. But with one you get so much more.

Yeah but the best part of the dinner is the steak and that's what everyone really came over for.

I like boxing better, but mma is also great. Why can't we just say that they are both great?

    ....

So much more sloppy shit because most of the guys fighting might be great at 1 thing but not the others. Boxing will always be better than MMA in the way that a great boxing match is better than any MMA match. MMA has other advantages but that's not 1 of them. There is no MMA fight that is on the level of a MAB-Morales I or Corrales-Castillo I IMO. Are little 5-7 minute fights better than a great boxing match? Sorry I just don't see it. I appreciate both sports for what they bring but in general MMA fans are ignroant as fuck about boxing.

I don't want to seem like an MMA hater, because I like it and watch it regularly.

But compared to a good boxing match, it's more like a world class high school fight.

Scrappy, sloppy, not much in the way of sustained exchanges and rallies, a lot of rolling around on the ground and cuffing each other like girls and wrapping their legs around each other etc.

It's all just a bit gay, a bit amateurish, and a bit high school compared to a good, world class boxing match like Pacman - Marquez 2 etc.

Don't get me wrong, I dig it, it's still fun, but boxing is leagues above it.

Really with boxing i thought you got Basketball.

Its great you get submissions and wrestling because if that was so popular why isn't wrestling and straight up submission fights on HBO or Showtime instead of boxing.

I like soccer and i like Football that doesn't mean it would be better to combine them. In MMA you might get more but it's much harder to be skilled in 5 things then it is to be skilled in 1 thing.

Some people just can't appreciate the beauty of wrestling and submission fighting. Luckily, I'm one of those who do.

The only time they are even comparable in excitement is when the MMA guys try to box.

Exactly... and the steak you get with MMA is usually prepared by someone who doesn't know how to cook streak.

Wrestling and Submissions are effective but boring everybody wants to see guys trading punches or strikes.

    haha...no prob....

that was honestly the greatest sports moment i have ever witnessed

That said, I love MMA so much more than I ever loved boxing....Boxing is a much more technical and just more asthetic sport, but MMA is pure and raw, and just a blend of so many technical aspects....watching two truly great mixed martial artists is amazing....

There is no right or wrong, but to me, MMA gets my vote over boxing any day of the week....

:nono: not so....once you get a grasp for what the guys are doing on the ground, its much more entertaining.....just like real boxing fans can appreciate a Pernell Whitaker or JMM, but casual cans wont so much, its the same in mma....everyone likes knockouts, but only people who understand what they are watching appreciate the technical aspect of the ground game

Damn, did you see that Jeremy dude fight? His punches looked like Ricardo Mayorga after he drank 2 quarts of whiskey. They were all over the place.

    Nice sub though.
