The Chamber is a VERY underrated movie. Hackman, as always, turned in a brilliant performance. Even the usually unbearable Chris O'Donnell was good in it.

World War Z could have been AWESOME....it could never live up to the book in scope...but it was simple and boring....survive 20-30 thrilling minutes get out the city....go to asia survive a little squirmish...go to the savior jews in israel survive another squirmish...get on "zombie on the plane" survive....then get to irish version of cdc...inject yourself with some shit..THE END....

GARBAGE!!!!....I watch it because it short....quick...and simple...but that's why I also hate it...190 Million budget...IMO shouldve been the GREATEST ZOMBIE movie of all time.

It would've helped if it resembled the book even in the slightest. I get that the book was more a collection of connected short stories, which doesn't really translate well in a movie, but it was nothing at all like the book.

I'm sure Pitt spent a decent amount of cash for the rights to the film, just seems like a terrible waste of money when he could've called it anything else, really.

Not all of us watch small indie pics from Estonia. Try to at least mention films people have heard of.

LOL the Oscars is the most watched worldwide event second only to the Olympics. Plus most of the critics praised to heaven 'Whiplash' with a 94% certified fresh RT rating. That your acquaintances are ignorant about movies doesn't mean the film itself is underrated. :nana:

I watch the opening remarks and then stop and wait for the last hour.

I refuse to watch any other award shows though. Never watched the Grammys in my life for example. Definitely pretentious shit.

First of all Oblivion and Edge of Tomorrow are two huge suck-ass scifi flicks and I'm saying that as a huge fan of Tom Cruise films. Actually Edge of Tomorrow is only kind of a bad film.

    Anyway:

    Apt Pupil
    The Village
    Devil
    Biker Boyz
    Frailty
    Haywire
    Stealth
    Hart's War
    Undisputed

Just to name a few off the top of the dome.

    Payback.

I love me some Conan the barbarian ( the film not the character, lol) but no sure if it would be classified as underrated.

I think Speed gets its proper credit. But, maybe you're right. I think maybe it is a bit forgotten in 2016.

Speed is a great movie. A true classic. It's a shame that the sequel was HORRIBLE, but that can't diminish the first.

Speed is such an iconic movie, that I feel like TO THIS DAY people sometimes think twice when riding a bus because of it.

I thought someone would have something to say about this one, but it really is a good film right up until the part where he lands in Alaska close to the end. Basically it just has a shitty ending, but there's a lot of cool action scenes that make this film highly underrated such as:

The attack on the mountain compound with all four aircraft
the attack on the building where the main star delivers the bomb through the roof of a high rise
the high speed chase scene against the AI fighter
    Jessica Alba's ejection scene
    the in-air refueling scene,
the air to air combat scene against the Korean air force.

It wasn't Jessica Alba, it was that other chick she is always compared to. I just caught it last week for the first time, and I was astounded at how bad it was, considering the cast they got, and the amount of money I found out it was budgeted for.
All of those scenes you mentioned were tuuuuuuuurible. Especially the one where the AI plane forcibly raped the re-fueling blimp.

Yeah that was a really good psychological thriller/horror.

It's still a little hard for me to not laugh at Bill Paxton. His performances in Aliens and True Lies and that voice of his just crack me up.

The "Coked up Paxton" phase, was a highly entertaining part of his career.

He'd mellowed out quite a bit once the mid to late-90's hit.
