The doctor was a fuckup too but ultimately the ref is in there watching this dude take flush bombs, he couldn't even stand up at the beginning of rounds without wobbling and stumbling toward the end

Foster is also a terrible ref, confusing the 10 second warning with the round ending bell , needlessly intersecting himself into the action, etc

 

Agreed, Foster is the worst, has ruined so many fights and gets it wrong every time. That could have been a life-changing beating last night.

Let's be honest here: Wardley is not a good boxer. Big brave guy.... But he's got about 4 rounds in the tank.

His face falls off at the slightest insult.

He's got two late-round stoppages that suggest he has a tank and late power. One was over some guy whose name I can't remember. The other was over Joe Parker...a premature stoppage against a guy who has been around for years and has been stopped before, properly stopped at that.

I've watched Wardley gas out and get rescued.

Dubois is a scrub. Really.

He beat a SHOT AJ and his biggest claim to fame is how he was "robbed" in Poland where he went out meekly.

Last night's card was fun and entertaining but a lot of weak shit too.

Wardley is a massive over-achiever for sure. I like him because like you guys have said, he seems like a cool dude, has a lot of heart and can bang, but I don't think anyone was ever saying he's genuine world class. People were outright laughing at the prospect of him taking on Usyk, for example.

I think Dubois will get sacrificed to Itauma very soon.

 

Yeah but it was getting quietly overlooked how shit he was. He was suddenly being spoken about as if he'd always been Championship timber. He wasn't. But it was starting to get sold that way.

And yes. IF Itauma has any bit of chin and poise, he'll blow Dubois out in a few rounds..

He's a VERY Easy Guy to Like/Root For, But the "Fabiiioooooo Waaaaaarrdleeeyyy" Chants were a Bit MUCH...No American APPRECIATES British Fight Crowds Quite Like REED Does, But He Couldn't Tell If They Were Being GENUINE or PRANKING Wardley w/Praise....

If dubious KOd itauma will he get into the hall of fame?

How about if his legal body shot was ruled as such and he had a rightful stoppage victory over usyk ?

 

In fairness, he had showed a lot of heart and world class power in the Parker fight and Parker was on a decent run up until that point. It also seemed to show that he had a lot of what Dubois has been accused of lacking. It's a good win for Dubois regardless of what happens next to Wardley. If fish-eye warren is cruel, he will give Wardley a recovery gimme and then feed him to Itauma within the year.

 

It's genuine praise. Fight fans over here love their fighters. Especially if they're a bit shit, they love them even more. Wardley could never fight again, make an appearance at some card in 5 years and get a massive round of applause.

 

Wardleys problem is that he could simply suffer more facial damage fighting cans. I'd find it ironic if he found himself in with Itauma before Dubois.

He could fight bums and get beat.

He's like Gatti. Gatti took on Ivan Robinson trying to get his mojo back. Derrell took on Chelli. It's easy to run into trouble looking for an "easy touch".
