It's possible. I just wonder how much Alexander has left, mentally. Been a while since he's looked good or confident in a fight.
Thank God...I'm in the minority but I blame a lot of his bad performances on being drained. No power, no strength, getting gassed...His handlers hurt his career staying at 140 so long.
Maidana still beats him at 147, in fact I have almost no doubt about it. He'd hunt him down, beat the crap out of him, and sapp Alexander's already diminutive will to fight. Alexander did fuck all in the Bradley fight, it was pathetic, he also got outboxed by Kotelnik and outfought by Lucas. I didn't see him looking particularly weight drained in any of them, the weight could be a factor, but I doubt the new weight is going to suddenly increase his fighting spirit and bravery.
It's a sound theory. I was a big fan of his when he was coming up, but he just hit a wall. Very possible that it had everything to do w/ being weight drained, though I also believe at least a small part of it is Kevin Cunningham pulling a Teddy and crushing his motivation. We'll see what the move to '47 reveals, though.
We'll see. My money is on him looking more or less the same at 147. I would even pick Berto over him.
The first thing you'll notice is the impact of his punches at welter. That's when you'll know I'm right, he'll be a different fighter.
Fair enough, I'm open minded. How long do you think he's been struggling to make 140? A bit like JM Lopez, I've never quite gotten the hype behind Alexander. I was 99.5% sure Bradley would beat him. How do you think a 147 Alexander would fare against Berto or nutjob Ortiz?
types "veron paris" into google hits "images" images result confirm that, as suspected, "vernon paris" is not caucasian has a quick chuckle and then quietly leaves thread ::
Bump , the biggest idiot on all of fightbeat (and this is one hell of an understatement) self owned again.
I think he was laughing at me for suggesting Lee may end up better than Ortiz. I sure as Hell hope they fight one day.
Zab looked fucking fast for a guy years past his best. Maybe Khan deserves a bit of credit for beating him, albeit Judah never saw a fight he couldn't quit in. But one of the most offensively gifted pros of the past two decades.
