Vitali quit because his shoulder hurt, Duran quit because he needed a shit.

Vitali's is worse, if you need a shit you need a shit.

I know. As if fighting Rahman at that time would have dramatically improved his resume.

Some of you have the memory of a goldfish, but at the time it happened, everyone was agreeing theyr was something fishy about his reluctance of fighting Rahman. Hell, he said he wanted to fight another bum, just days after cancelling the rahman fight for the nth time.

not to mention that a prime Rahman is probably better than anyone Vitaly has beaten

I remember then and I don't recall this. I remember a FEW folks squawking about it, but most didn't give a shit. It wasn't like it was a fight in demand.

And when was Rahman's prime? I'm guessing it wasn't in 2005.

I'm usually the first to pile on Vitali for his shitty resume, but I never had a problem with Rahman fight not happening. The notion that Vitali faked injuries and retired because he was scared of Rahman doesn't work for me.

Duran quit because Leonard was humiliating him. Still not as bad as quitting because Chirs Byrd is walking you down.

I don't recall a soul saying "Vitali is scared of Hasim Rahman"

Hasim Rahman is a journeyman/fringe top-ten contender who scored one of the most shocking upsets in the history of boxing, was promptly annihilated in the rematch and went right back to being a journeyman contender. He was never a particularly good fighter. It's difficult to envision any scenario other than Vitali repeatedly punching him in the face

Well you're wrong. It was the most widespread theory at the time of vitaly ''retirement''. Also, I could have seen this rahamne giving a lot of trouble to Vitaly, especially with the jab

You keep saying this, but I don't remember this being some widespread thing. I remember a few folks bringing it endlessly (you, perhaps??), but I don't recall it being a big of a deal as you are making it out to be.

Honestly, until Jesus said it repeatedly, I had never heard anyone else make the accusation (maybe Rahman himself)

anyway, Rahman would have gotten beat up
