I'd still watch Froch vs Chavez.

 

Not sure, maybe I took it up all wrong, seems Froch was being criticized for wanting a high-profile fight in Vegas with a name fighter not called Ward. And besides...with Frochs advancing years and style, and the weight being 168 not 175, I cant have seen it as an easy cash-out for Froch.

Froch is what, 37, 38........he's been in a lot of wars, and trains in a fashion that wears down the body- he recently had to quit running and take up cycling as his joints are fucked.

At 168, Chavez would have been coming in at 180 and I am not sure if Froch would have had it easy at all.

Fonfara is a bigger stronger man than Froch by quite a bit. He's could survive Stevensons power and put Stevenson on his ass.

He's a cut above Froch in the physical stakes.

Main reason I would have liked to see Froch vs Chavez is with the drunk UK fans and the drunk Mexican fans there'd surely be fights and possibly a riot.

 

Froch would bring around 4 fans with him to Las Vegas. 3 of them would be in his corner and the 4th would be his wife and she would not be fighting back.

Froch's made that crossover into the mainstream now though. He'll bring fans, not Hatton numbers, but a respectable amount.

Fought Off his Backfoot MUCH Better than REED Thought he Could & Kept his 1-2's and Uppercuts GLUED to the Grill of Provodnikov...Provo was Competitive in SPOTS & Kept Lucas HONEST, but the Verdict was Never in Doubt...

Provo's Got Beach Balls for Testicles and Perhaps THE Best Chin in All of Boxing, but Lucas Proved to Be a Higher CLASS of Fighter...

Agreed on all counts ::

Balls like watermelons, and a chin like an anvil.

But yeah, regarding Lucas, there's no question he looked better than I expected. Boxed and fought off the backfoot better than I thought he could too, and showed great accuracy and technique, even when FFH Provo was moving his head.

 

Yeah I don't see the argument for a draw. Lucas landed far too many clean shots for Provo to have won. Although, Provo did have Matty rocked in the 11th from a big left hook. Matty recovered well though.

 

Provo didn't really show the sort of power needed to turn a fight around. He's absorbed a lot of punishment recently . I see Khan in in his future.

 

He's still too dangerous for the parki pussy.

Maybe. But then again, Provo hit Matty Ice was some serious shots. Lucas has a good chin. Those same shots hits Khan and Khan does his Bambi dance.

Provo does take too many shots though. Kinda good for him that he didn't win. Had he won, he'd have been thrown to Crawford, and TC would turn Provo's face to pizza.

 

There were 2-3 Occasions where Provo had the Opportunity to Alter his Fortunes in the Fight...Nonetheless, he Never Completely Went for Broke like he Needed To...

GAME as Hell, Undeniably, yet Provo was Acutely Aware of Mattttttthhhhhhhyyyyyssssse's Firepower All the While (He Even Acknowledged Lucas was the Hardest Puncher he's EVER Faced, to Lampley), so he was CAUTIOUSLY Brave...Along with that, Lucas Did a Good Job of Clinching and/or MASKING How Buzzed he Was, the Few Times Provo Managed to Rock Him...

Yeah and that was solely because Matthysse pretty much fucked him up for prolonged periods of time in that fight. Provo had to walk through shots to land his share as per usual but Matthysse being a huge puncher really cost him some stamina points in the process. Lucas beat a bit of the relentlessness in applying pressure out of Provo and that saved him in the end.

When you see provo you think he can take everything and then some and never be in trouble. Yesterday I wasn't 100% sure if he can take that tip the very end. He could do that for 100 rounds against Algieri, against Lucas his face probably wouldn't hold up.

I fear for the time after his prime, he will endure some hellacious beatings were he needs to quit at some point in the fight.

 

I tell you what, it is fucking weird that Lucas's chin held up so well. Provo is a powerful dude, not a great finisher as you know, but he has hurt plenty of people with single shots.

Lucas was knocked down and hurt by Molina and Garcia, yet FFH Provo's meaty hooks couldn't knock him down or seriously hurt him.

 

Provo looked smaller in there last night.

 

Really? I thought he looked clearly bigger. About the same height, but Provo has a much bigger upper body, thick, with big shoulders etc and a big fucking head.

I've always thought Lucas looks kind of small for 140, looks like a lightweight to me.
