dawson sure does get a lot of heat here for dropping down in weight to go fight a guy most of you all consider among the best 5 or 10 guys in the entire game, in his hometown.

 

He's getting no heat for that.

 

he certainly hasnt received any credit here. he is getting shit on all throughout this topic. the worst offense was the moron who compared him to audley harrison.

the guy has fought solid competition throughout his career, and has one technical decision loss where he was on the verge of stopping his opponent.

Not even close, Pascal was winning clear, and in no danger at all of being stopped.

Doorson simply isn't very good. Pascal is a better fighter, as their fight proved.

He should also have another loss to the Coffe.

I actually thought he might have stopped Pascal. When the cut happened & the clock really started ticking it was like somebody released the safety on the Chad hand gun. And thats the root of my disdain for him - not that he's shit, but that he's basically shit by choice. Precisely like Audley Harisson. In regards to stopping Pascal, I honestly thought that was Neil talking shit, I don't remember that looking remotely likely.

 

I'd have to watch it again, but it was my feeling at the time. He went 9 rounds throwing FUCK. ALL. Literally about 2 power punches a round, like he was trying win some bet, Willie Pep style. Then the cut happened, he started letting the left hand go and completely took over. And I promised myself Id never watch him fight again.

 

I got the order wrong - the cut came after dawson started throwing in the 11th. Looked like he realized after the 10th that he needed a stoppage.

 

Dawson was beating up pascal in that las round. Would have been interesting to see what would have happened

 

I like this Ward-Dawson fight. I thought that Ward would go up to 175 for Dawson's tittle. He made the jump from 160 to 175 in the Olympics and won gold.

At 168 I still think Dawson will give him a pretty good fight but Ward is just better I think. Not as powerful but all around better.

I agree. Dawson is decent, but Ward is on another level. I would be seriously shocked if Dawson beat Ward.

 

This fight is going to suck. It will be another black eye for boxing. Ward is talented, but unwatchable with an odious fake personality. He reminds me of a dumber version of DLH. Put Brandon Rios and Maidana as a chief support or something. I promise you when this fight happens most of you will question why you watch the sport.
