Well, like I said, the only one who brought up that comparison in this thread (read the post) was you.

That holds true and that's exactly what I said.

To me it was pretty clear Linares had height and reach on Larios and was clearly the bigger man in the ring...he's big for a FWT.

Boxrec height and reach listings are very often wrong. In the ring, Linares looked clearly bigger to me. He looked bigger at the weigh-in too.

I believe HBO had him listed at one inch taller than Larios.

Given that and his style and straighter punching and better speed, he would beat Larios to the punch all night and it would do Larios little good to try to box him from the outside.

So, would you have had Larios box Linares from the outside? You said you don't think Larios should have pressured Pacquiao (which he didn't). You also said that you think Larios fought a dumb fight by pressuring Linares. You think he would have been able to outbox him from the outside? Just curious.

Me, I don't think he would have beaten Linares either way...at least not at this stage in his career.

If you're refering to people making comparisons in another thread, then I agree with you...that comparison should not be made. I don't think anyone should.

Boxing history is filled with fighters who should have stopped an opponent someone else did - and yet they didn't. And vice-versa.

Styles and physical match-ups and intelligence, etc. come into play.

    Simple point to understand.

Manny is still safe. Very safe.

Wrong, I said if he did he would've been KO'd just as quickly if not quicker if he used the same strategy against Pacquiao that he did against Linares.

In fact, here's what I posted:
Why are you trying to misrepresent my post?

Yes he did. He was getting wobbled as early as the 3rd or 4th round by foolishly pressuring a guy who was faster inside and hitting him hard up and down.

I never said he would've been able to outbox him but I could see Larios having more success using timing instead of outright aggression. That's usually how slower fighters counter quicker fighters.

I dont' think he was that impressive. I think Linares did what he had to do. But Larios already announced a possible retirement before the fight.

Larios has been declining for a while. Before the ass whiping by Pacquiao he was stoped in two rounds by VAzquez.

I remember no long before tha he went life and death with a shot McCollugh.

When Linares beats a superstar or a prime champion I'll be impressed.

I like Linares and I see alot of upside but let's not forget where Larios is/was at this stage of his carreer.
