I agree that Ward is a lot like Hopkins in that he's cerebral, imposes his will, get's dirty if need be, and knows how to win. I enjoy watching him I think he's a dynamic fighter with lots of spirit. I predict he'll win the Super 6 and go on to defeat either Dawson or Bute after that. He might have problems with a guy like Cloud in the future who's fearless and has a great offense with lots of pop.

Ward did impress me with his tactics. His infighting and smothering gameplan was excellent.

But as someone else said - Green stopped trying to win after the 1st round.

This tournament should be set up so that KO's are worth 5 points. Fuck's sake lets see some fucking knockouts.

I think this was more a case of Green being terrible than Ward being excellent - but Ward is still the legitimate favorite to win the tourney

I don't see him beating Dawson but yeah, he's pretty good. Very clever and always with an idea of where to go. At some point his chin and lack of pop will catch up to him though.

If Ward were impressive, it's certainly not because of how he looked in there. It was an ugly and tedious fight. And Ward's performance reminded me of John Ruiz.

The first two rounds maybe, but Ward moved his hands on the inside more and more as the fight wore on. Ruiz is just one-two and clinch till the referee breaks you.

    Nah...

Allan Green was the 1 INITIATING Most of the Clinches...But his Dumb Ass Only Clinched 1 Arm @ a Time & Ward Consistently BATTERED him w/his FREE Hand...

Some will Tell U that INFIGHTING is a Lost Art...Ward's VERY Good @ it...& He's a Bit GRITTIER than the Wholesome, Pretty Boy Facade would Lead U to Believe...

ward did a good job of using his left forearm to straighten Green up then smacking him with the right hand...even when the right didn't land clean he caught him with his forearm.

Green had no answer for any of it.

Imagine if Ward had Hopkins' toughness and chin? Ward is a damn good fighter, his chin is going to fail him one day though.

Ward impressed me again. Not because I thought Green was anything special. It's because of the way he beat him.

Green was supposed to be this great Puncher that was damn near guarateed to ko Ward at some point according to some of you.

I always expect Ward to keep his distance and outbox his oponents. But he fought completely different and just smothered him in close.

I think the only thing Ward lacks is power. But he clearly knows how to win regardless.

I still don't get why he gets alot of shit and why some people just can't wait to shit on him weather he wins or loses.

I agree,.. although my stream was cut after 6 rounds,.. when people start comparing him to the overrated bitch Hopkins, you know that it's 'really' a negative expressed as a moronic positive.
