Fighters can become bigger than the belts, but their situations are never permanent and will never be commonplace. They are the exceptions that prove the rule. And the rule is that sanctioning bodies are a net positive to the sport.

That some of it isn't 'common sense' is why I get labeled as a contrarian, but that doesn't make it incorrect.

I am interested in clearing up the stuff that I misrepresented, I guess.

Otherwise, maybe someone will take up your cause and continue the conversation. Someone not named Reed, haha.

I've said all there is to on this. I think you're wrong. The current system has to change.

WBA goes where the money is, now the money is in Europe.

I'd hate for reality to get in the way of sanctioning body slurs.

Anything involving The Ring, HBO or Showtime will certainly not be an improvement. The only difference will be that since they have a tighter control on information than any of the sanctioning bodies, they'll manage to fool many more people that they're legitimate. In a large sense, they've already rendered the sanctioning bodies useless by degrading them on air on a regular basis, which would be fine except that their only purpose in doing so is to take the place of the sanctioning bodies as the arbiter of who's good and who's not.
