I watched the two championship fights with a friend of mine over a couple of beers last night. And credit where it's due... although, for the most part, both fights were hideously boring, that kick off the fence was a thing of beauty. It didn't quite make up for the fact that the fights and fighters were all garbage (with the possible exception of the guy who kicked that boring black guy with the hair in the face), but that was cool.
This one he has no excuse for, at least with the big UFC ppvs he can make an excuse that it was on at a bar or something, but this was an obscure WEC card, this shit wasn't playing at bars. Hell, the casual fan didn't even know about it, and even if they heard about it, they were too busy watching Thursday Night Football to care. ::
Are you guys stupid? It was aired on 'The Score', one of Canada's highest rated sports networks. It was on at every pub in town. And no, I don't pay for cage fighting.
I don't care what anyone thinks. That was a solid fight card. Free on a Thursday night and getting to see probable Top 10 P4P guy in Cruz, please... It was a solid event. By the way, if I were making a current P4P list, Cruz is 8th right now. Jar, TLC? Where would you put him?
Well, it would be difficult for you to really judge how good Cruz is because you don't like the sport or really follow it according to your own comments. That being said, Cruz is a very good fighter. Most who know the sport would agree.
Cruz probably will get KTFO if he drunken boxes an elite striker, but he'd probably just take them down. The way he charges in with telegraphed lead uppercuts just makes it seen like one day he's going to get cracked with a right hand doing that. Cruz vs KID would intrigue.
