Do you think it's too soon for DeGale to have his first 12 rounder in only his 7th professional bout? Calzaghe has his first 12 rounder in his 14th professional bout.

Also critics slam DeGale on his ''slapping'' and ''lack of power'', but with 4 KO's in his first 6 bouts there is power there! Going back to Calzaghe, his ''slapping'' earned him 32 KO's in 46 bouts! Are there comparisons in DeGale's style to Calzaghe's? apart from being southpaws.

Nah, he's in with a guy who can't punch for peanuts and who was KO'ed in emphatic fashion by cello renda, who is a decent puncher but nonetless, i doubt this 12 rounder will go 12

Honestly, apart from the fact that they are both male, both professional boxers and both supper-middleweights, I see absolutely ZERO stylistic comparison between Calzaghe and DeGale.

Besides, the DeGale 'slapping' argument lasted about three fights. He's sitting on his punches much more nowadays and getting plenty more leverage on his shots.

I just watched some more videos of Groves, he's shite, DeGale would batter him once he gets a bit more experience.

You and bpg completely misunderstood me.

When I said "top tier fighters can punch" I didn't mean, that's the reason why Khan won't be top tier, because HE can't punch, what I mean by this was that if he stops being overprotected and faced elite fighters, his OPPONENTS are the ones who are going able to punch. That coupled with Khan's chin = Khan losing.

By the way he can't punch either. He's not feather fisted, but he is not even close to being a puncher. He hit old, much smaller, featherweight barrera with everything he could and couldn't even wobble him, and he is supposed to be a puncher?

Nah, he has fairly sharp, stinging shots, a bit like Floyd, and for that reason he'll hurt people and get stoppages, but like Floyd, he is not a proper puncher. In fact I think Floyd hits harder for sure.

Manny doesn't fit the bill at all. A weight drained Manny got KO'd by body shots, twice. When he was like 18/20.

Apart from the freakish jab by hussein that decked Manny, he's shown an excellent chin.

Khan got KTFO by 1 punch to the CHIN, not body, chin. Not only that but he's been consistently wobbled by light punching fighters.

A fighter like that simply has no chin. No ifs or buts, Khan clearly can't take a punch.

That doesn't mean he's a bum. Look at Wlad, he's got a proper glass chin too, and he is pretty fucking successful, even though the HW division is pap.

But like I said, when matched with a sharp shooter who can punch, Khan is getting blitzed again. And unless he's overprotected for years to come, he IS going to fight a puncher who is adept at landing those punches at some point.

Oh no you don't.....no Sir...no Sir....Wlad has a better chin than Khan, by a country fucking mile.
It's still not great, but it is waaaay better than Khan.

Wlad got up 3 times from Peter Rabbits punches {do you see what I did there, fightbeaters?} to finish stronger and nearly KO Peter.

Even at that....Sanders had to do the old Patterson route to finish Wlad off. Wlad kept getting up. Sanders hits pfp harder than ANYONE Khan has faced

I would hazard that, for Wlad, Peter hit harder than Lymond did for Khan.

For all the Papness of the HW division....Wlad has faced pfp harder hitters and prevailed.

Mate, Torrecampo knocked Manny out with a shot to the chin, Pac was out for a fair few minutes, the Singsurat loss was the body shots one

If he takes out Paulie, as in actually takes him out, not a corner stoppage ala Hatton but stops him, would your opinion change?

Slice, I saw the torrecampo fight recently, it wasn't a shot to the chin. It was a shot to the solar plexus or thereabouts. Manny went down hard, as if it was to the chin, but play the punch back in slow motion, it's nowhere near his chin - it was a body shot.

To be honest it's really hard to tell and the footage isn't of the best quality, but it still seems like a chin shot to me, and his reaction is that of someone who is out of it, not winded.

Side note - isn't Torrecampo in jail for murder now?

DeGale will batter Horton inside 6 rounds! Comfortable nights work ahead for DeGale. TKO round 5 i think!

I agree, with the footage and the camera angle, it is hard to see what's going on - but I've watched it loads of times (because I was unsure myself) and seriously, I just don't see Torrecampo's glove anywhere near Manny's chin. I'm not saying it is, but it almost looks like a dive. It looks like a half decent shot to the solar plexus/chest, and Manny goes down like he's been shot.

Odd KO for sure, but I'm 99% sure it wasn't a chin shot.

And either way, Manny has generally shown an excellent chin. People thought Khan had a glass chin even before he was blown away by Prescott, that fight just confirmed what people thought.

Khan's chin and lack of IQ are going to stop him from being top tier. He'll look good beating some good fighters, but when he comes up against one of the best fighters in the world, and one who can punch, Khan is going to lose again.

I had no idea about Torrecampo, when did that happen?

One hyped Brit prospect I was delighted to see being shown up was that incorrigible little Cornish tadpole Lee Haskins.
