Yeah exactly, the way he turned that fight round after that spell in the middle rounds was extremely impressive. And it's not just toughness....Gatti had 'toughness', it's composure and focus too of the type really great fighters have. Toughness alone wouldn't have won Leonard the first Hearns fight or Ali the Foreman fight....not to say Floyd has demonstrated greatness on that level yet, but that ability to focus and react under pressure is the same intangible he has in some measure.

This is a great post except for the last paragraph...

Mayweather is no "spring chicken" anymore. He's slipped a bit. Had this fight happened 6 years ago the outcome may have been different. Floyd offered Mosley that fight back then and Mosley turned it down. Remember? His loss...
    To that last paragraph...
Mark my words. When Floyd Mayweather finally fights Manny Pacquiao it won't even be close. Mayweather will destroy him with no trouble whatsoever... but he'd better have the fight sooner rather than later.

it showed that floyd is a tough fucker, a fighter

i was impressed by how he handled it, in the corner between rounds he looked pissed at himself, that he got hit with them, and he adjusted accordingly

also makes me sad that the fight didnt happen a long time ago, im certain a prime shane would have beaten floyd, possibly KO'd him
