The only one who woulda gotten KTFO would be Cotto. Prime Mosley woulda put it on Cotto's ass badly and stopped him. No doubt in my mind. Hell, a shot Shane nearly beat Miguel.

As for Mayweather-Mosley, Floyd schools him at this point. I'd give Shane virtually no chance.

Prime Mosley vs Floyd at 147 woulda been a very interesting fight, and one Shane might have won, though I'd still favor Floyd.

Prime Shane was in a different league all together from the likes of Hatton, Judah, and Bumlomir.

Trust me...and I know that people think I'm only saying this because I'm a Floyd "nuthugger"...but the reason why I'm a "nuthugger" is because I realize how good Floyd is...

    Anyway...

Shane at no point in his career could have beaten Floyd. NOT A CHANCE!! Stylewise, Shane is a poor man's Floyd but Mayweather trumps (or ties) him in every single category...and to be honest with you...although it's possible that Shane may punch a tad harder...Floyd is capable of delivering worse punishment because his punches are unpredictable and deadly accurate.

2000 Mosley vs 2007 Floyd at 147...Floyd by decision (7-5 or slightly more).

    2007 Shane vs 2007 Floyd?

FLoyd is the first man to stop Shane. Put money on it!!!

So you give all the edges to Floyd (even the ones he doesn't have) and only see him escaping with a thin decision?

I'm almost as much of a Floyd fan as you are, and never was a fan of Shane, BUT.... to say a prime Mosley would have "no chance" against Floyd at 147 is RETARDED!

Mosley is no Hatton. Floyd wouldnt have been able to bully a prime Shane on the inside like he did Hatton, and from the outside Floyd would have trouble with not only Shane's handspeed, but his REACH as well.

Prime Mosley gives Floyd HELL Sly. With a gun to my head I pick Floyd, just because he's by far a better thinker, but Mosley woulda had a great chance.

Shane has an edge in handspeed...but it almost doesn't matter, because his punches are still more telegraphed than Floyd (don't know how this is possible...but it's true nonetheless) and a slight edge in power (again...not enough to matter).

Floyd matches Shane for chin, body punching (YES bodypunching)...and beats Shane is every other conceivable category.

Why will it still be a close fight?

Because Shane is one determined son of a bitch...and will always be firing back with vicious stuff.

A fighter can have every conceivabe edge on another and the fight still be close...ever seen Ali-Norton?

Fair enough. Perhaps "not a chance" is a bit strong. But Floyd, IMO would have to be a clear favourite.

People really, really need to stop posting as if the Mosley of today is basically shot vs. the 'first' version of Shane at 147.

    It's really being too hyperbolized.

    Peace.

Shane isnt shot. If he was he wouldnt have dominated Collazo, and damn near beat Cotto. HOWEVER, he's nothing like he was in 00-01. His reflexes, and combination punching ability back then were far greater than it is today, and IMO his stamina was better back then also. Mosley had Cotto in a bit of trouble at one point in the fight in which he had Cotto backing up and IMO hurt for awhile, but couldnt follow up. A prime Shane wouldnt have let Cotto off the hook like that, and woulda exploded on him.

This post is wrong for two reasons:

    1. Cotto wasn't hurt. He backed up voluntarily because he was attempting to sucker Shane in. At that point Shane was just trying to survive by either running or clinching.
    2. The phenomenal Prime Shane you speak of is a Myth. He beat De La Hoya and.....THAT WAS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cotto would have beaten prime Shane also....

I'd favor a 135 pound Shane over PBF, only slightly though.

If a midget can bully and manhandle Floyd, anything can happen......Mosley would fair better than Judah, so it's very likely Mosley could win.
