"Six Heads" Lewis vs James Page

If I remember correctly..James Page was the gatekeeper to the Mythical Pound for Pound title..for no one was deemed worthy of that honour until they went through Page.

Six Heads wiped the floor with the incomparable James Page which is perhaps the most impressive feat of the new century!!

Foreman was such an idot at times.

    I always like Jones-Paz.

Sure Vinny was out of his league and well above his past weight. It was just a dominating and entertaining performance. Roy did everything that fight including using his jab.

Hopkins also impressed me with his complete dismantling of Joppy. He whipped him as bad as Tito did, but just without the destructive power.

The two most recent I can think of are Lacy-Calzaghe and Mayweather-Gatti. Though in reality none of them should of been too much of a surprise. But was seriously impressed by both:bears:

    Great choices, folks!:bears:
    I would defintely include Benitez-Palomino, Benitez-Cervantexz, Benitez-Duran, and McGirt-Brown.
Also; Douglas KO Tyson and DeJesus W Duran, with Whitaker W MNelson honorable mention.
Hit and don't be hit in return.

McGirt v Brown was about as perfect a display of the 'sweet science' as I've ever seen. Neither guy was the best there was; but one could adapt and played the other like a puppet. Truly near perfect.

I think the top 5 are(in no order):

    1. Jones-Toney
    2. Chavez-Rosario
    3. Hopkins-Tito
    4. PBF-Corrales
    5. Curry-McCrory

Those are the 5 best performances of the last 25 years IMO.

Honorable mention Taylor-McGirt. Meldrick was truly something to behold in that fight. Buddy was NEVER in the fight after the first round. Mel beat him up like he was a bum, even though he was far from it.

To me Pacquiao-MAB was more impressive than Hopkins-Trinidad. Trinidad was moving up in weight and slowly got disected. Pacquiao was the 1 moving up against MAB and beat his ass.

Buddy had a busted ear drum. That makes even standing up difficult. No wonder Taylor looked like an all-star.

The most impressive win I saw live was Danny Williams, he had a dislocated shoulder after a few rounds but still managed to knock the guy (I cant remember his name right now) out fighting one handed.

Oh yeah and Rocky’s come back against clubber lang.

Thats a good point. Yeah you can argue Pac-MAB as an equal, or better performance than Hop-Tito. But still, Tito was considered P4P #1 when Hop destroyed him, MAB was a top 3-5 P4Pder when Manny beat him, but not #1.

Tyson-Spinks HAS to be given consideration also. Yes I know the haters will say Spinks was a blow-up, aged lightheavyweight. But that still doesnt erase the fact that at the time he was considered a real threat to Mike, and had never previously been down, or hurt in his career. The way Mike obliterated him has to rank somewhere on all time impressive performance list.

And speaking of great heavyweight performances, Bowe's performance in the first Holy fight is one for the ages.

Peep my avatar. Roy threw THE fastest combination in the history of the sport in the 3rd round of that fight to drop Reggie. I watch that fight all the time just to see that combo. Its mind blowing how fast it is.

I think it would be best to come up with fights in which the styles suggest there to be an even fight and yet one guy dominates.

    Duran-Palomino

    Sanchez-Gomez

    Whitaker-Ramirez II

    Hopkins-Trinidad
