Remember what Roger said about Hatton vs. Pacquiao....something along the lines..that if Hatton can't beat Pacquaio...as small as he is..he(Hatton) should throw his boxing gear in a trashcan and set it on fire.....

So going by that..if Mayweather doesn't fight Pacquiao...as small as he is...Mayweather is the ULTIMATE BITCH.....

If this fight happens @147 PBF should win. @140 I just don't know.

I'm not sure how much difference it'll make actually. Both guys will come into the ring at about 148 either way if previous fights at both weights are anything to go by.

sometimes you just have to go with your heart... pacman just seems to be leading a charmed life. fighting everybody at about ten different weights, fighting in an exciting style, never trash-talking, never bullshitting, uniting the 90 million people of a developing country. floyd is pretty much the absolute opposite - no fans, negative style, less-than-courageous matchmaking, and completely obnoxious. pacman's a blessing for boxing, potentially the most positive p4p no 1 since ali.

either way, they make a compelling pairing, the bling boxer and the shanty-town banger.

The second option really bothers me.

I like JMM a lot, he's one of my favorite fighters. I would love to see him beat Floyd (although i don't see it happening)

However i find myself in a tough spot where i almost have to cheer for Mayweather  because i want to see Pac-Floyd so badly.

As good as the two fights were between Pacquiao and Marquez, i'd rather see Floyd vs Manny instead of a rubber match.

If i had it my way Marquez and Floyd would end up a draw.

How will Pacquiao respond to Mayweather's goading and trash talk at the press conferences?

Hatton and Pacquiao got along just fine!

To be fair to Floyd, it's been quite clear from previous interviews that he has alot of respect for Manny Pacquiao, and I can't see him being quite as disrespectful to Pac as he was to Hatton or Oscar. I've seen him cheering Manny on in the 2nd Morales fight, and he certainly rates Manny as a fighter. I just don't think he thought (like we all didn't) that there would ever be a point where he and Manny would fight as they were so far apart weight-wise. He might talk some shit, but he won't go overboard with it.

True, I think Mayweather respects Pacquiao, but I also believe out of that respect will come a certain amount of fear. It may cause Mayweather to try and trash talk to gain some advantage psychologically.

I agree with the above though, I think Manny is humble enough mentally to let Mayweather trash talk all day and not respond.

If Floyd hasn't lost anything and comfortably gets by Marquez, I'll take him in a mid to late KO over PacMan. People are understandably on a Manny high right now and have forgotten how good Floyd is. He'll be too big, fast and skilled for Pacquiao. Manny's best shots will be bouncing off Floyd's arms & shoulders.

Nobody has forgotten anything. Pacman has just shit on Floyd's 2 best wins, which were a dull, close decision over Oscar, and a 10th round KO over Hatton where despite beating Hatton convincingly, Hatton at least had some success, and wasn't utterly dominated.

Mayweather is bigger yes, but too fast and to skilled?

Nah, it'll be the other way around. Manny is going to be too fast for Floyd.

If halfwit Judah managed to be winning at the halfway stage mainly just through being faster than Floyd, then just think what Manny's speed, AND skill, and strategy, and accuracy etc is going to do.

    Manny beats Floyd.

    you know..
    all jokes aside..

I am really really suprised at some of you guys..

I really don't see Floyd-Pac being competitive at all. Floyd for me has an easy time with Pac

I never said "there is NO WAY that cotto beats Magglinna"

I thought Magglinna had a shot but this is a totally different thing here

I have come around on Manny.. become a fan even.. I really like him. but I do not think in ANY WAY he could beat Floyd

The reason I pick Manny dude, is because he's stylistically an absolute nightmare for Floyd, a southpaw with even faster hands than Floyd. Floyds defence and guard is incredible, but with Manny being so fast and in and out, Floyd will get hit, Manny will get through and force Mayweather into exchanges. Also just studying the evidence of how Mayweather has dealt with these things in the past, which hasn't always been convincing.

Don't get me wrong Lok mate, I'm not at all picking this with total confidence or anything, I'm just slightly leaning towards Pac, there are undoubted questions which need to be asked, like how does Pac deal with the fastest guy he has ever/will ever face, who is naturally bigger than him, with such a great defence? Pac of course will be hit as well, there are so many intangibles. The truth is as well, their last two fights are both against the exact same people, and Manny was much more impressive. Although Floyd has the chance to change the common opponent slant with his next fight.

Either way, fuck it, this is going to be a great fight and I really cannot wait until it happens!!

We don't even know what the WEIGHT is going to be.

Remember Barrera-Naz, after every Barrera connect the crowd was going completely WILD. Perhaps it will be same for Pacquaio.

Pacquaio is interesting in the sense, while being very aggressive, he seems to be defensively concerned with counters.

what people are forgetting is FLOYD would be a stylistic nightmare for Manny not the other way around. Floyd would counter the hell out of Pac and after he takes away his left hand he will probably stop him.

I disagree. The fact that Manny is FASTER and a southpaw is going to be a stylistic nightmare for Floyd.

Like I said, even Judah was winning the fight with speed and southpaw-ness and Judah is a moron, without 1/10th of Pacman's skill and ability.

Pacman's defense has tightened up something fierce too, he is hard to hit clean, he can land and slip punches at the same time, I haven't seen anyone integrate offense and defense so well since Roberto Duran.

A lot of Floyd fans are going to be surprised when Manny starts outspeeding him, outboxing him and outpotshotting him. I wonder how Floyd reacts, if he goes for the KO, or just carries on boxing.

That would be true if Pacquaio is a one handed fighter. He is NOT.

BOTH have the style to beat the other.

The question is who will have to adjust to whom?
Who has the power to hurt the other and change the fight?
Who has the stamina to effectively go the distance if necessary?
Who will go to the body better?

Answer those questions and you have your winner.

For Floyd to win he'll have to use his ring smarts. He is physically gifted and a great athlete but the surest way for him to win against the force of nature that is Manny Pacquiao, is to find the weak link in Pac's armor and exploit it until it gets boring. Whatever it takes, even if it produces a stinker of a fight, PBF has the ability to do...the question is will he?

yup..at Floyd being a stylistic nightmare for Pacquiao...many of Pacquiao recent opponents mostly mexican by the way..have this NEED TO go on the offensive and ATTACK..ATTACK and attack...MAYWEATHER is not going to do that..he is going to use his better footwork...and counter Manny Pacquiao..sure Manny will get his punches in but if he can't hurt Mayweather then he is in trouble...because he is not going to outbox Mayweather...:nono:

He counters with his hook well but do you really think he'll counter Floyd who will have his hands up and will be shooting 50 jabs a round?

"Floyd is BIIIIATCH for fighting Marquez, but JMM is great, more skilled than Floyd and a better fighter, more mexican and brawler so JMM may win but if PBF wins is because size only! And if he wins, he will duck Pacquiao because Pac KO's him! Even if I sound contradictory because Pac-Marquez fought each other to even terms and I'm calling Floyd a bitch for fighting one of them and at the same time picking the other one to KO him. It's just my mind working it's way to not giving Floyd any credit no matter what the outcome! Oh yeah! Also, bitch Floyd is barely top 30-40 all time and Pac top 5-10 even though the reason I'm CREAMIIING MY PANTS NOW IS BECAUSE MANNY JUST BEAT 2 GUYS FLOYD BEAT BEFORE!! HOW CRAZY UH!?"

    i really am suprised here

    seriously

    I see Floyd-JMM is a total mismatch

I think Floyd whups Pac too

Floyd is faster IMO and it's a "controlled faster" it's not just speed it's seeing things in there, calmly and countering smartly

Floyd is bigger and FLoyd is not Pea in that Pea was a master boxer but some would say was "feather fisted" Floyd is not a really hard puncher but his punches are Sharp and fast and accurate and he WILL hurt you in there

the common opponent thing to me means little..

IMO FLoyd beat DLH when DLH was better and Floyd Beat HAtton when HAtton was undefeated and some thought invincible

I think FLoyd will make Pac look like a amatuer in there, hurt him and stop him

agree with everything....except for the bold part...NOBODY..NOBODY thought that Hatton was invincible..at least nobody that saw his fight vs. Collazo at 147...Hatton was lucky to survive that fight..with his undefeated record...

Pacquiao gets more credit than Mayweather for the Hatton/DLH victories because Manny Pacquiao jump from 147 to DESTROY De La Hoya..Mayweather fought a better version of De La Hoya...but the degree of difficulty was greater for Pac cause he had to move up and fight a much, much bigger opponent without having a few fight to get use to the weight...
and in Hatton...Pacquiao went to 140 pounds(Hatton) best weight and destroyed him with ease. Unlike Mayweather who fought Hatton at 147 where he show he was GARBAGE in the Collazo fight..

Right now i'm picking Mayweather but he won't make Manny look foolish, if Pacquiao power is able to hurt Mayweather...then Money is fucked...Manny fight at an insane rate for 12 rounds..Mayweather is use to fighting relax and laid back..

Floyd: I'm the truth! You ain't on my level. Your ass getting torn up!

Manny: Me fight hard. Thank god, do my best. Me confidence I will win.
