Come on, Hopkins has been a P4P'er for the last 10 years.
Carl Thompson couldnt box or punch for toffee and looked like he was in a mid 80s reunion of ex-members of The Four Tops with his wet-look hairstyle. :dunno:
He stopped a knackered David Haye 3 years ago and if you need further proof how how heinously SHIT he was: JOHNNY NELSON KTFO'd HIM!!
    Point #1: Mustard

Roberto Duran - greatest fighter ever at that point had also lost to such luminaries as Robbie Sims, Pat Lawlor.....Kirkland Laing!!!
    Point #2: Mustard

The point I'm making about the Barkley-Nunn is.....Barkley had just been beaten by a washed-up fattie and had a 2nd beating off Nunn.....coming off two straight losses isn't going to do anyone's confidfence any good.
Plus, Benn was on borderline cheating in that fight - hitting while opponent is on the floor.
    Nevertheless, I'll be fair here.
    Point #3: Even

But you are all wrong for criticising Joe like that.

1.He is a boxer it’s not natural for him to perform like that in front ofa camera.
2.You cant expect guys like himself and mayweather to get to the top of their game and have excellent social skills, you see this in all sports. The dedication it takes is not exactly normal.

I am extremely cynical about this fight taking place in America, and the sentiment surrounding one of thier favourite boxing son's about to retire, "the legendary" Bernard Hopkins (overrated, weight welching, scumbag of a human being) ..from the refereeing to the scorecards, I dont think anything is going to go Calzaghe's way whatsoever, and this build up reminds me of the time when an anonymous European, Felix Sturm, travelled to America to face "the golden boy" in every sense of the word, America is NOT unbiased when it comes to thier very favourites.

People always go on about Europe and places like Germany being notoriously difficult to get the decision but America is the most most biased of them all just look at Johnson against that dud "bad chad" dawson, useless idiot.

Anyway I thought that Joe may face problems in this area but I am certain we are going to see a vintage Joe destroy the ageing Hopkins.

fair enough. In fairness Lynam gave him very little to bounce off either.

Thanks for the links Hut Hut, I had already downloaded it from a torrent site actually.

I almost fell asleep watching it. HBO's Calzaghe - Hopkins coundwon thing was much better.

Calzahe and Lynam were both uber boring.

But certainly what TKO said does make sense. It takes just an insane level of dedication to reach where calzaghe, floyd etc have, and of course that level of dedication is going to leave you being slightly odd, and perhaps a bit less socialised etc than most people.

And that end product in a sense is a "normal" outcome of all that training and dedication. Personally I was always good at sports but lacked that killer drive than all these top pro's have in abundance.

Look at guys like Gazza his social skills would have been great back in the day look at his career and life now. He too lacked that dedication but made it to the top through pure talent and that is even harder to come by.

yeah it was an atrocious 30 minutes of television.:shit: Calzaghe doesn't seem like a terrible guy to be honest, just self obsessed. But as you say, to be THAT good at something, it takes that.
