And chin, stamina, footspeed, footwork etc sure

It's a moot point, if they fought I would give Cotto the edge. But it would not be any kind of blowout for Cotto. At 140 I would pick Hatton.

At 147 despite being a similar height, it seems to suit Cotto very well. He looks strong and sturdy at 147.

My only point is that Hatton is a better body puncher, which is 100% true. He'd ko'd at least half his opponents with body punches, including castillo.

He hasn't been good only in that he got KTFO by Corrales and got robbed by Floyd on an off night, hindsight :nono:

I agree...Hatton looks much stronger/better when he decides to fight and not "dry hump" - problem is; he can only do that for 5-6 rounds...and it doesn't get any better at 147.

I think there's a reason Hatton has increasingly been clinching more as the fight progresses...and that's stamina.

I hear you on Cotto vs. PBF, but I think in that fight it would be Cotto's methodical relentlessness that would be his best asset. He would continue to come forward, no matter what....until he was hurt; and even then. And don't underestimate his ability to pull the trigger quickly when he's in position.

That's funny....I don't see Hatton punching from all angles. What I DO see is that he has very good offensive footwork and often comes in at angles to deliver his body shots - and he'll sidestep inside to do that. It's part of what makes him such a good body puncher. BUT - his punches are pretty fixed in terms of repertoire and pattern, especially to the head.

Mosley, however, will punch from unorthodox angles and will vary the speed, timing and angles of his hooks, right hand and uppercuts. To me, he's the more "unorthodox" puncher of the two.

    Peace.

I give Ricky plenty of credit.

However...he may hit MORE to the body - but I do not believe he hits harder there. Cotto commits just as much...and can do it from a longer distance too, and in combo with head shots.

Hatton needs to be close and needs to maneuver you into position to deliver his best shots.

    Peace.
