in fairness to Limon, he was pretty worn out by then

I'd say Camacho/Ramirez (who was at his best and very formidable) was a lot more impressive

Whitaker/Haugen was almost comically one-sided... everything was working for Pete that night

Duran's defense while attacking against Carlos Palomino is really something to see... He continuously landed flush shots... Palomino was as tough as nails to keep plugging away, but he was totally outclassed (and he was a good fighter)

Marlon Starling against Lloyd Honeyghan has continuous replay value... It's a clinic

Mayweather/Corrales is one of the best displays of footwork, defense, and clean, clinical counterpunching I have ever seen... Mayweather made it look easy

One of the things that captivated me about Duran when I first watched him fight was his defense.

As I said before, think about how much harder it is to have good defense while you're actually coming forward, pressuring your opponent and throwing punches - rather than fighting cautiously off the backfoot etc. Considering how aggressive Duran was, his defense was just incredible. Quite simply I've never seen any other fighter in history able to come forward, landing shots, while slipping so many of the incoming, even from brilliant opposition.

He was also exceptionally good at landing punches that really shouldn't land. He sometimes threw wild-looking shots that look sloppy and ungainly, yet he managed to catch his opponent's with them consistently. As well schooled as he obviously was, he was in many respects unorthodox.

    Yep...

The BELIEF is that Roy was JUST Fast & Athletic, but his Boxing MIND is Perhaps THE Most Underrated Asset he Possessed...If Roy was ONLY Good BECAUSE of his God Given Talents, he'd Be Andre Dirrell or Someone Similar...

Knowing HOW, WHEN & WHERE to APPLY your Talent is Also a SKILL...There's Been PLENTY of Athletic Marvels in Boxing History, but Very Few Fighters were as Genuinely UNCONVENTIONAL as Roy Jones was...

    Well Said, STIFFord...

Mayweather/Corrales is the textbook definition of "boxing clinic." That's the kind of big fight performance you only see every few years at best.

Mayweather/Gatti was expected to be one sided by everyone who knew what they were talking about (there were definitely a bunch of idiots who picked Gatti to KO Floyd). So while the performance still exceeded expectations & as such was impressive on its own, imo it doesn't compare to a lot of the other bouts mentioned here.

Agreed. It's hard NOT to be impressed with the extreme one sidedness of the Gatti fight, but let's be real, Gatti was dramatically out of his depth and everyone knew he stood no realistic chance against Floyd. For that reason it doesn't really deserve mention alongside the others. Chico, weight drained or not, was a very dangerous fighter - and that performance was incredible

Wladimir Klitshkos best display was a shutout and a stoppage against #1 contender Ruslan Chagaev. Accurate defense, destructive jab and booming right cross finished off the game and worthy challenger
