    Yep,that was about as sad and pathetic as anything else you could think of in this sport!!

    It's interesting reading through this thread. This is the exact reasons why so few people take up boxing as a profession anymore! Though,it does seem American boxers end up more destitute than European fighters?

    Better than Jones? He was beaten by one of the worst title holders in the 90's, and perhaps of all time. I know it's your opinion, but it's very hard to justify with facts.

    Good call, Sergei Kobozev also comes to mind although he was not, technically speaking, a great fighter. He did beat Ruiz on the way up.


    Getting shot, stuffed in the trunk of a car, having your neck broken, and getting buried in a mobster's backyard is not a great way to end up. I'd say Sergei belongs in this thread.

    Ketchel was shot in the back with a shotgun, I think. That would suck.
