Yeah Sturm is no great shakes, but he is a proven (albeit average) fighter at world level. And he gave a pretty good effort against Martinez too before getting stopped, a Martinez that was better than the really crap one that just lost to Murray.

Don't get me wrong, he's not a great fighter, he'll never even be a title holder, but he's a decent guy that would at least provide some test to most world class fighters.

What has Stevens done that has come close to arguably beating Sturm?

The only possible argument for Stevens being arguably better than Macklin is doing "better" against Gaybox, but to be honest I thought it was Stevens who bitched up rather than Macklin. Macklin just got destroyed, but tried to fight Gaybox.

Stevens turtled against the ropes and threw random "counter" punches. I thought it was a horrible performance tbh, he managed to go a good few rounds which is more than most people can say, but I thought he looked pretty scrubby.
