Is it blasphemous for me to say that I think SRL could have handled Robinson at welterweight?

Yes sly, I know that Pernell wound up sucking major ass at that weight because of the drug problems AND HE NEVER BELONGED AT JR. MIDDLE IN THE FIRST PLACE, but he was still an excellent defensive specialist when he fought Vasquez and then went back to welter.

All he would need to do is duck one of Vasquez's clubbing swings and drop in one of Julian Jackson's right hand bombs. Vasquez would STILL be asleep as of this date.

Ok cool..at least we agree on that.

It's like saying the perfect heavyweight would be Roy Jones + Mike Tyson. Roy Jones was incredible...but he wasn't a heavyweight.

Give Pernel Whitaker the power of Ray Robinson at 135 thru 147 and you have an unbeatable fighter.

Ya. First 20 or so fights there. His first significant win vs Sammy Angott was at lightweight

I think he meant Trinidad offense and Benitez defense.

Trinidad wasn't as bad a fighter as you seem to think.

Not quite. Roy fought the majority of his career 25lbs south of heavyweight whereas Sweet Pea was 7lbs south of Jr. Middle for a number of years. More than a little difference there.
