Bell was gassed and in survival mode from the last 2 rounds before that but I really wasn't impressed by Mason. This guy would get outboxed by Linares. He was looking out of ideas until Bell gassed. Commentators gave the first 6 rounds to Bell. Mason just powering forward and telegraphing body shots and getting away with it. Bell admitted he was just in survival mode because his nose was broken. This guy Mason is heavily overhyped.

mason was struggling for sure. they didnt get a chance to prepare for this opponent who is difficult and negative, although they were familiar with him from the gym. he was clearly losing the first half of the fight. a lot of grappling from bell. stoppage was very poor and unnecessary. mason could have still taken bell out if it was allowed to continue. he was breaking the guy down the 2nd half of the fight.

fuck bell. he was in the right place at the right time. preparing for a fight vs a southpaw, and ended up getting this opportunity cuz cordina beat down some retard and 2 or 3 other preferred opponents didnt take the fight.

Bell was disappointing for sure. This wasn't a great fighter he was fighting and he started giving up in the 2nd half. He then says after the fight that his nose was broken at some point and he was just surviving. From about the 7th round onwards he was holding and spoiling. Maybe he was just limited and this was the best he could do.

Mason is a young pup fighting an undefeated veteran....he struggle at times, he started listening to his corner, went to the body, slowed Bell down dramatically. Bell didn't JUST stop trying or got tired, or a broken nose stop him from engaging, it was Mason ratcheting up the pressure. Bell was cool as a cucumber while Mason was headhunting....

A learning experience for Mason without taking a beating in the process...
