Realisticly we all know the fighter in this clip aint the best fighter in the world either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dss8VYRjxKo
i had winky #2. ugly or not, hopkins beat him convincingly. what p4p fighter has floyd beaten? how about pac? was morales a p4p fighter when pac beat him?
although i admit, i have no problem having floyd at #1. the guy might not have beaten any great fighters who's in his prime, but he beat a lot of very good fighters and did so in a dominating fashion. i'll have him #1 for sure when he beats hatton.
I only know one guy that's beaten ranked P4P competition in his last 2 fights.. Bernard Hopkins... Guys can dismiss Tarver now, but at the time he was considered the best LH in the world and a top P4P guy. Hopkins destroyed him.
look...I don't care much for floyd mayweather,.. BUT, the guy has reeled off 38 consecutive wins without a loss,.. against the best fighters in four weight classes, with 5 title belts to his credit. I can't stand his style, and I can't stand his personality.....but the guy IMO is the best fighter in the world P4P right now. The only reason there is a fighter out there with any chance of beating him...is because he is the smaller guy. If Floyd Mayweather had stayed at 135 or 140..he is unbeatable IMO. Well, other than getting caught with a KO shot. But anyone can succumb to that on a given day against the right guy.
:bears::cheer: :cheer: Whoever says Bernard Hopkins only makes the victories all the more sweeter for Jermaine Taylor, and endorses his number 1 standing beyond your own comprehension it appears, so thanks gentleman, we'll accept that, Jermaine's son IS p4p number 1.
Bernard is probably the deserving of the #2 spot, but even with his longevity and recent big win,...he isn't even close to Mayweather.
It's Mayweather...but right now being p4p #1 is about as meaningful as being the head chef at Burger King. It's a pretty sad list...even at the top, IMO.
To boxing fans, it may be that meaningful. but in reality,...the difference between being the head chef at BK and being Floyd is about 6 million a year.
Maybe I should have been more clear, comparing Mayweather to some other recent p4p #1's (like Whitaker or Jones) is like comparing a BK grill man to a real chef...let alone a renowned one.
Look dude, I share your complete and utter distaste for Floyd Mayweather Jr. But even if a boxing fan rates Floyd #3 on a list of P4Pers that includes Roy Jones and Pernell WHitaker........the difference in skill, accomplishments and talent dont make PBF look like a BK chef alongside of them. C'mon now.
