Obviously I still want to see it, it's two ATGs, the 2 biggest stars in boxing, probably the 2 best P4P fighters, but the PR games and posturing is just annoying as hell. It should've happened 2 years ago.

I root for all their other fights to fail financially.

How much of a chubby would you achieve Ike, compared to admiring a photo of your flowing chestnut hair of yesteryear?

I do just for the all time PPV record. This will do over 3 million buys.

Half mast. If only my hair was what it once was. That was the ultimate aphrodisiac for me. I was once so beautiful. I am now just fodder for worthless disgusting single mothers who throw their never beauty my way.

    Not at $75 either.

In fact, I would be less confident if it had taken place in 2010 as first proposed, or even in May of 2011, but right now I don't think the fight surpasses dlh/Mayweather buys, even at $60 which is what that fight cost, I think. Pacquiao's performance against JMM has hurt pacq/floyd a lot.

Yeah it's taken a lot of the interest out of the fight. Styles make fights and all that, but after that performance it's pretty hard to imagine Manny bashing Floyd.

I think it's not just that, but the fact that they've both been farting arsing around like little girls for 2 years.

Sometimes a wait can generate more excitement, but I think in this instance it's only generated tedium and boredom.

and annoyance and frustration and a lot of other negatives.

I agree, sometimes a wait is beneficial, but we are well past that in this situation. It was so refreshing when the fight first got mentioned in ~dec of 2009 with them agreeing to split it 50/50 so quickly. That's usually the sticking point and I thought Floyd (or Manny) could have argued he deserved more. And then testing, etc.

An extra 25,000 seats at average 300bucks each makes $7.5m. 2m extra each for the fighters? Which is before you subtract the significant cost of building the arena. And before you factor in the higher prices you could charge in a smaller arena through sheer demand. Arum expects us to believe thats the difference between this fight being financially viable or not? 1.5m for each fighter at a push?

Or is the excuse the horrendous eye cut from the Marquez fight which nobody saw? A cut Arum's totally confident would be ready for May 26th but not for 3 weeks earlier?

We know why this fight aint happening

Despite how tired everyone is of media war regarding this potential fight...

Whenever it does happen, it is going to be HUGE. Biggest boxing event in 10 years.

For that reason alone I can't wait for it. It's going to bring the sport TONS of attention.

Had it happen 2 years ago...it would've been the biggest boxing event since Leonard vs. Hagler.....or if you want to go further back Leonard vs. Hearns...

Regardless it will still be the biggest PPV in history...

You don't think Pacquiao's performance against Marquez plus the unified moaning and bitching hasn't dampened the interest in the fight?

I think it would have been significantly bigger 2 years ago.

not at all. pacquiao got the decision, dubious as i believe it to have been, and the fight is still as bigger ever. in fact, i think it has only gotten bigger over time. i dont really know anyone who wanted to see it 2 years ago that wont watch now if it happens, so how could it have gotten smaller? only thing affected was the odds.

Odds are significant. A big fight that's close to even money is naturally going to gain more interest and get people talking about "Who wins?" more than a fight where it's become fairly clear that one fighter doesn't stand a great chance of winning.

I don't know, even taken that side out of the equation, the fact that they've been dancing around each other like little girls for 2 years has made me (and many others) bored of the whole thing.

I agree sometimes a big fight can brew, and actually become bigger, but I don't think this is one of those instances.

Of course I'll watch it, along with most other people, but I don't think it'll have quite the same buzz now, and quite the same PPV sales.
