Couldn't have said it any better myself. I can see the case for Khan-Prescott II, but now that it's not happening, Prescott can go out and attempt to further his credentials rather than clutch on to that single moment. I don't have a problem with McCloskey. I'm a longtime fan of the Peterson brothers, dating back to the ammys. But Lamont's handlers outpriced their fighter, plain and simple. He was the front runner and managed to get Team Khan to double their initial offer. I didn't blame them when they turned down $150k. I didn't blame them when they rejected $200k. But once it hit $300k, they took issue with a suggested rematch clause. They overplayed their hand and now Lamont is left without a fight. Also for what it's worth, every indication seems to suggest that Khan/Golden Boy is pushing hard for a Bradley summer showdown. So yeah, a perceived soft touch four months after a grueling war is certainly forgivable.
The more I watch McCloskey the more impressed I am with him, to be fair. He's like a technically competent Naseem Hamed sans the big time power. Dare I say it, not unlike James Degale, stylistically, actually. He's certainy a far more knowledgable boxer than Amir Khan. Think I'll ride Megabus' charriot of the underclass down to Manchester & watch this in person.
Any idea when they go on sale? It's £5.50 return trip Glasgow-Manchester on megabus :: God bless it.
Yeah turns out they've been on sale for a while already. All the cheap seats are sold out, cheapest ticket 100 quid. Too much.:Wah:
Fuck that , i'd rather go to the DeGale/Groves fight so will be checking up on tickets for that each day.
