Just ridiculous. Celebrating two men with CTE reducing their life expectancy yet more years to the sound of Sweet Mongalong.

It might be easy to look at the US and laugh at it's demise, but the UK is barely a tick behind it, if it is behind it all all

Aye. Remarkable compassion from a man who used to boast about 'wanting a body' and who literally KO-ed a guy dressed in a costume on live TV for the lolz.

Is it true people in UK can be arrested for online comments (wrong think)?

Not behind at all and probably leading the charge in certain regards.

Yes. The UK has never had absolute freedom of speech, ever. That position remains true today.

From the news we get (no doubt imbalanced), UK is hyperfocused on protecting muslim/migrant feelings.

Only where "protecting" those feelings advances the cause of The System.....

Yeah, but no. It has been a criminal offence in the UK, for literally decades, to incite hatred on a variety of different grounds, including racial hatred. The common term is 'hate speech', which isn't quite right but close enough for most purposes.

It's existed for years and it largely stops things here that you guys tolerate, such as the Westborough Baptist twats. It's becoming more prevalent because people on the internet like to post anonymous shit which breaks the law. The law has always been there, but Twatter hasn't, so now people get charged far more often.

The cause celebre is a fucking horrible woman who, in the middle of serious civil disorder, invited her thousands of followers to set fire to a hotel which allegedly housed migrants awaiting processing. Soon after, some rioters set it alight. She was prosecuted and, under the law as it is, in my view correctly.

There have been some clear examples of overreach, though, and there is a strong case to review the law at least in some respects and to review police decision making in several more.

That's the best summary I can give without going all politics in GD.
