Price's problem is chin-orientated, any confidence issues are just a by-product of that. The guy cannot hold a shot very well, plain and simple. Thompson is the best guy any of them have fought so far but I expect Joshua to reach that level soon and leave it behind him just as rapidly (providing his chin holds up).

David Price is a robot compared to Joshua.

I don't think Joshua-Whyte should happen in Sep/Oct, only because I think it has the potential to grow into a much bigger rivalry if both continue to win. Whyte has been out of the game and needs time to rebuild his career. Of course, Whyte would take the fight in a heartbeat and a win for him over Joshua would do his career wonders. I guess even if Whyte was to lose, he's still young and a defeat isn't the end of the world for him.

You could tell David Price was a bad fighter by looking at his face. It's all in the face. No one with googly eyes like that is good at stuff.

I hear you, but Kevin Johnson was already better than anybody Price ever beat, and also the style in which Joshua has beaten the likes of Bakhtov and Sprott has been impressive. But yeah, he is still untested. He is also a 18 month pro so he should get much better

Surpassing the Thompson level means about the same as breaking in the top-10 right now

Please. You always look back and pick past fighters. Michael Grant was a bum of the highest order. He was basically a converted basketball player or something. He couldn't fight to save his life. He basically feasted on bums until he faced Golota and only "won" that fight because Golota was a headcase. He almost "BROKE HIS LEGS" against Lewis and was just proven to be a useless cunt thereafter. Wilder would have killed grant.

I agree with you that Wilder's not all that good, but he's better than Grant.

Boxing is never happy. They want to harp back to the "Glorious Era" of Lewis Holy Tyson and Bowe.

It reminds me of when Holy fought Holmes, Pat Putnam did an article in Sports Illustrated decrying what the division had come to.

Nowadays, people hark back to Holy vs Holmes as some sort of golden era.

Double standards, rose-tinted glasses, all around.

Exactly. In a few years they'd label Ginger, Golovkin etc as the golden era. They are never happy...these cunts.

I remember an article, after Hagler lost to Leonard, that said that Hagler's entire reign was filled with bums...with the exception of Duran and Hearns which were smaller fighters blown up. However when fans look back from 2015 they look 'pun (Jamaican accent) names like Sibson, Mugabi, Minter, Antuofermo etc...as if they were the creme de la creme.

    Again...cunts.

Yes, Tony Sibson has come a long way since his beatings caused his retirement.

In fact, I have never seen a man roar through the ratings as fast as he has, by mere dint of the passage of time and his retirement.

Sibson is 0-0-0 (0) since his retirement. Cannot do better than that.

I have heard of two-fisted fighters. I have heard of one-fisted fighters. But the only one-footed fighter I ever heard of was Antuofermo.

Antuofermo was a tiny little caveman. A guy like Hopkins would have used him as a speed bag (not even a heavy bag). Hagler gets all this credit for beating guys like him (and he had to fight him twice to beat him).

I agree he won the first fight...but the record says otherwise. He shouldn't have made it close enough that he could be robbed of a victory. Antuofermo was a tiny little brawling caveman.

Neil be defending the black man, always.

Sly, as a proud, big ripped black man, does it embarrass you to see these "ten dollah, fifteen dollah" merchants trying to defend your dignity for you and fight your corner....it must be really annoying.

Im not sure whats more faulty, trumpeting some scrubby wald pussy foe as this impressive victory or referring to a 5'6 guy as "big".

Antuofermo was a rough, dirty, difficult guy to fight... He'd be Bernard's best successful title defense... Bernard would win but the idea that it's some easy "speedbag" display is bullshit from my man Sly, the same dude that thinks there's an argument that a guy whose crowning middleweight scalp is Felix Trinidad is the best Middleweight of All Time

Antiofermo was a midget with a club foot and skin that opened like the local whores legs.

He was everything that people said Rocky Marciano was, just without the punch or the stamina.

Possibly, he was after all a MW Champ in a one-champ era, so what.

I know who I would sooner get into an argument with.

A black guy with a club or a guinea midget with a club-foot :dunno:
