I don’t think you’ve made a fool out of yourself. In fact, even though I may disagree, I think you made some solid points and I can see it from your point of view and I’ve enjoyed this debate so far. One thing that is ridiculous though is thinking Fury won’t take a rematch because he thinks he’ll get robbed twice. That sounds like a copout and I don’t recall any other fighter ever thinking something so asinine. Usually the guys who get jobbed are the ones begging for a rematch.
Right, Ok, thanks. Here's the thing....... Fury isn't based in the USA and if you look at a lot of the guys who traditionally have pursued the immediate rematch, they almost always seem to be cases where both guys live or are based in the same location, more or less. {McGirt vs Whittaker, GGG vs Canelo, Fury vs Chisora, Fury vs McDermott, Haye vs Bellew etc} Or, they are cases where both guys are footloose and have settled on the USA, for example, as their place of business. {Vitali vs Lewis} Or, they are cases where the guy has just got absolutely no choice in life and needs the money and didn't have any problem with the decision the first time {Wlad vs Thompson} Fury has no problem with a rematch. He's got a problem with a rematch in the USA. That's the rub here. Like Leonard had no problem with a rematch with Duran. Just not in the same small ring. Reed has made the argument that Fury got dropped twice and doesn't want to face such a damaging foe again. That is suspect logic IMHO. First, if Fury wanted to avoid Wilders power, he wouldn't have bothered with the fight in the first place. Or, a la Golota vs Tyson, he'd have quit once he tasted the power for the first time. Oddly, he took 5 or 6 more rounds of risk having already been hurt, but won't take 12 rounds of risk from a fresh starting point and for more money. A That doesn't stack up. What MIGHT stack up is that somebody dangled easy easy money in front of Fury and Fury did the simple maths: Less Risk More money Less chance of being fucked Don't get hurt Wilder will still be there for later. Or.........immediately reward Wilder, who he already schooled, and forego a big TV deal with no guarantees of a fair shake from the judges. If he "loses" to Wilder, will the big TV deal still be there? Possibly not. If he takes the big TV deal will Wilder still be there after? Possibly so. Necessity is the mother of all invention, and Wilder isn't necessary to Fury right now, and that's what it boils down to.
You said you only started bitching about Schwarz after I got stuck into Breazeale. I mentioned Breazeale in May. You pissed on Schwarz in March. QED.
I wouldn't go that far, in fact it;'s not literally the truth, but perception in sports matters as much as reality. What has queered the pitch for Wilder is that he's drawn a fight people feel he lost, and now he's threatening to kill a comparative weakling. It comes across as a bit lame. In the meantime, Fury has crafted a narrative of a damaged man, fighting bravely against the odds, against all hope, to defeat his demons. The fact that Fury is largely responsible for a great many of his own problems is usually casually overlooked. This is as it must be a source of considerable annoyance to Wilder.
All I'm saying is there's a reason Fury does not share in Wilder's urgency to set the record straight.
I know, it's cos he's AFRAID OF HIM. Or.....he's being paid obscene money not to bother his ass and can fight Wilder later on in any case.
Wilder is now on day four of the death threats, offering Breazele's family to pay for his funeral. Ya know, ring deaths are very rare among heavyweights, but if Wilder were to ever get seriously hurt or killed in the ring himself... it would be perhaps the best example of karma. If it ever happens, I don't wanna hear any "Get well, Wilder!" Nah, fuck that! If Wilder dies in the ring, in the words of Robin Harris, "Gotta go, gotta go!"
Sad mess in fairness. If Wilder had any balls he'd pack his bags march into London and demand a fight with AJ at Wembley. Instead he'd prefer to threaten a guy that can't hurt him.
ACTIONS and CONSEQUENCES Like if a Down Syndrome kid or a dude in a wheelchair threatened me that I would be allowed to kick him to death, just cos he threatened me. FFS.
Yeah you derided the Schwarz match in March of this year, about 2 months before I did likewise to Breazeale.
Yes it would but it won't happen unfortunately..........but Wilder has managed to go from an ignored fighter to a disliked fighter pretty much overnight. It might be his best career achievement yet.
REED "Derode" Fury for Facing Schwarz in Lieu of Wilder II...Wilder's Facing Breazeale Because Fury and Joshua are Occupied...Big Difference... Not to Mention the FACT Breazeale was a 2012 Olympian and Actually Has RECOGNIZABLE Names on his Resume... Breazeale > Schwarz... REED
As Loooooooooooooong as Wilder Keeps Knocking Opponents Down and/or Out, Being "Liked" Won't Impact Him Negatively... REED
What EXACTLY is the Significance of This???... You Post as if You're Solving 1 of Boxing's MYSTERIES or Something...The FUCK Does March/May Have to Do w/Anything???... REED
