josh now has 57:43 spread, that's wider than I imagined it would be at this point.

I honestly don't have a strong opinion on this one... I could see either guy winning ... the only thing that would surprise me is a full 12 rounds

I don't think AJ or Hearn want anything to do with Wilder, folks. Just my thoughts. That stiff and upright style of Joshua's can get his head knocked off by a winger like Wilder. At the same time, Deontay is wide open himself and Anthony can hit him with right hands that can flatten him as well. I like both fighters a lot and I hope it happens sometime in the next 2 years.

Wlad never fought anyone with the strength, size or athleticism of Joshua. Wlad only fought little guys. Well unless you count Fury. But he doesn't hit like Joshua.

Pretty sure the same thing would happen in a AJ-Wlad fight, even if wlad was prime. He doesn't have the heart and durability to beat AJ

Wlad never took a shot like this before. Prime or not, he's getting KTFO...

Joshua's legs are twice the size of Wlad's.

No big fan of AJ, but I have to praise him for destroying wlad last chance of ever being considered a great fighter.

Was so close to winning that fight, and it would have done wonder for his career. Would have pained me to call such a despicable coward (and human being) a great fighter, but it would have made it impossible to deny it. Fortunately for eveybody who have a bit of dignity, AJ dug deep and exposed yet again Wlad flaws.

I was waiting for it.......but let's face it, Sam Peter should have blasted out Wlad, he hit hard enough. Didn't happen.

Wilder might not have the short shots.

I mean it's all moot now pretty much.

I don't know if Fury would have ever generated the offense to do to Joshua what Ruiz did......Fury is a very defensive fighter who likes to wear guys down and erode them.

Obviously based on last night it’s easy to say Wilder but styles do make fights. AJ is vulnerable in exchanges...

Can Wilder stay in the pocket, catch and shoot? Usually he gets his best work done when coming forward from a distance long enough to land his big right hand. I’ve yet to see Wilder show the ability to throw short counter left hooks inside.

There's a 50/50 chance Joshua learns nothing from the first match and gets stopped by this FAT ASS again, ala Thompson-Price, and his career will truly be in TATTERS

I think Ruiz beats him again unless AJ turns into a clinch machine

Please.........Ruiz was one good left hook from going out.

    I'd say it's 50-50

yeah I think ruiz got a bit lucky in there. If AJ didn't tried to finish him off as quickly, I don't think he wins that fight

Joshua is too rigid for a long bomber like Wilder. He’d have to hope a counter hook saves him.

I'm not so sure. Ruiz got belted with a few flush shots and kept coming - AJ gets belted with one shot and turns into a flailing, collapsing idiot. Even when AJ got on his bike, Ruiz was walking him down, countering and landing.

Exactly, not sure why anyone would pick Joshua in the rematch tbh.

    Ruiz probably wins again.

We have seen fighters turn things around before in rematches.

But AJ’s chin is worse than I thought. I think Khan can breathe a sigh of relief.

I just don't know whether we can really say that Joshua's chin is that bad, I mean he got hit on the temple several times. He couldn't recover after the first shot to the head in the 3rd round. Looking back on it, I think it played a big part to him losing the fight.

Every time AJ tried to slug it out with Ruiz he got fucked up. His general punch resistance isn't very good.

    OK mikE :D

Yes, he lost because he couldn't recover from being hurt in the 3rd round, but you see Jimmy, that's kind of what a bad chin is - being hurt and being unable to recover :D

So I agree with you, his terrible chin played a big part in him losing the fight :D

For sure we have, but in this instance? I don't see any obvious reason to pick Joshua. He's big and has respectable power, but Ruiz is faster, more skilled, better chin, better defense. Ruiz should be the favourite in the rematch, no reason to think otherwise.
