Well yeah, there should be a happy medium between Joe Cortez and Jay Nady.

What he means is that Cortez should only break the clinches started by Hatton and let Floyd hang from his dear life when under attack. Also he should allow all the blatant fouls Mayweather commits. If he could also give the water bottle to Floyd between rounds and wipe his ass, all the better

not at all -pbf shouldn't be allowed to foul either - but he doesn't have nearly the track record of it that hatton does which is why we're not dwelling on it. but still, pbf especially should be penalized for his use of the fore-arm.

I will have alot more respect for Hatton if he doesn't hold and gets beat than if he does hold and loses.

I hate Floyd Mayweather. HATE. And Ricky seems like about the nicest guy you could meet. But if Ricky is holding early I'll change to rooting for him to be knocked out.

Last couple of fights of Hatton's I saw him throw a punch and then reach with both hands to grab his opponent.

Forcing a guy into a phone booth type fight up against the ropes (which I hope Hatton does) and grabbing him with both arms are two different things.

i feel that exact same way. i think you're saying you'd respect him more if he lost not holding than if he won by holding, right?

and i agree - personally he's by far the preferable guy. but i can't root for anyone who holds and hits as much as he does.

I think that's the point I actually turned on Hatton. Hearing Graham tell him he has the fight in the bag and to go out and hold him instead of fighting him.......................and Ricky going out and doing exactly that, like a good little soldier.

If Cortez helped Ruiz then obviously it helps Fatton too because Fatton holds as much as Ruiz did.

Only difference is the knowledgeable Ricans don't like that shit.

This is boxing not a street fight. The rules are there for potection. If you can't fight without fouling you don't belong in the sport.

Some of the greatest fighters of all time don't follow all the rules. Just ask Bernard Hopkins:lol:

Point is...you don't use your elbows or push off the clinch if you aren't being illegally held in the first place, most times.

    :nono:

Both men should be warned appropriately, but the initiator should carry the brunt of the admonishment and ultimately, point deduction.

    Peace.
