which is pretty much my prediction

From "another" site (since the women that run this place won't let me post a link to it):
Jake Donovan - My usual reaction to a Mayweather PPV fight is "Mayweather by decision." For this fight, I believe Floyd will go beyond the status quo, forced to stand his ground after Ricky gives him all sorts of hell early. The 1st half of the fight will be competitve. The 2nd half, not so much. Ricky's stamina issues become apparent after Floyd finds a way to neutralize the "Hook-N-Hold". Floyd ditches pot-shotting, and slices Ricky apart en route to a cuts stoppage in a fight that will not quite match the hype (it'd have to be Fight of the Year to do that), but nevertheless proves to be entertaining. Mayweather TKO in 11.

You forget that Gatti, on the night of fighting Mayweather, was 30,000 times more shot than Hatton is.

Gatti was completely shot for the Floyd fight. Gatti peaked about 3 weeks before the fight and was on a complete decline on fight night. That's what you get when you train for 14 weeks. Dude looked dead even in the pre-fight interviews, as if they'd sucked all the life out of him in camp.

What kills me about the Hatton fans is that thwy give him credit for beating an old part-time fighter in Zoo who hadn't fought in hella and was coming off major injuries and credit for beating a very shop worn Castillo but yet they minimize Pbf's victory over DLH. Is this not the most hypcritical shit ever! Pbf is gonna beat Hatton ass like he stole something. Hatton has no fuking chance in this fight. His best chance is to hope for some type of a miracle like Pbf breaking his hands. even if Pbf does hurt one of his hands he will still beat the shit outta Hatton. I'll Holla 5000

Floyd breaking his hand(s) isn't a miracle, it's almost anticipated

Point taken for the most part, though. I know that Hatton's style poses threats that haven't come with a lot of Floyd's other opponents. But it seems to me like most picks for Hatton are based on:
    - bias for Ricky,
    - bias against Floyd,
    - or intangibles.

The latter being often accompanied with "well nobody believed Douglas can beat Tyson" and so on.

I don't doubt that Ricky will be competitive. I'm just amazed at the number of people who insist that Floyd won't be, or that he'll bitch up at the first sign of a "real" fight.

For people to claim that Gatti was shot pre-Pbf which could very well be true. But what about Castillo? If Gatti was shot so was Castillo. I mean the Chico/Castillo fight had to take hella out of him. But I guess we will give Hatton way more credit for beating Castillo who was prolly just as shot as Gatti then we give Pbf credit for beating Gatti. I'll Holla 5000

A lot of the theories being promulgated here are either right or left. What will pan out on fight night will be more of a middling affair of a million shades of grey. Both guys will come to fight and both guys will have their moments.

I remember before that fight, people were saying that Castillo was just selling his title.

One could say that he bitched up in the first Castillo fight. But he found a way to pull that fight out and Castillo brought the fight to him. But just like Hatton gets credit for moving up to fight Collazo Pbf needs to get credit for moving and beating the bigger stronger Castillo in the rematch. Hell atleast Pbf gave an immediate rematch to prove that the first fight was a fluke. Hatton ran like a little bitch back down to 140.. The way I see it in this fight is that Hatton can only impose his will on those that allow him to. Those types of fighters that are stationary zoo/castillo. When has he ever fought a guy that would prepare him for a fighter that has excellent foot movment like Pbf. Again the only way I see Hatton winning is if PBF breaks his hands. But if he wears his mittens Hatton is in deep shit. I'll Holla 5000

Could be correct. However there is no way in hell one can compare ZAB/PBf or the Zoo that fought Zab to the Zoo that fought Hatton. Facts! I'll Holla 5000

Yeah but you don't really follow it, do you??

Cos if you did you would remember that you said that "Tszyu Is In A World Of Hurt" immediately before the Judah fight.

How did that one work out matey??

Agreed. Totally different fighter. Its just pure coincidence that the Tszyu that destroyed Mitchell in their 2nd fight was the same Tszyu that got beaten by Hatton. Then again, we might not be talking about the same Mitchell here.

Yes. They were that bad. Ironically, you have hit the nail on the head when you referred to how a brother sticks with brothers. Thats cool.......but not when Bigdawg is referring to my alleged blinkers. He is as blinkered as they come, but unlike his perennial sidekick Reed, he is incapable of couching his attitudes amongst semi-cogent boxing logic.

:dunno: No one can say Floyd bitched up in the Castillo fight in my mind. The key being the 10th (I believe), where floyd digs in and fights Castillo in close in the center of the ring. I am pretty sure its the round where he loses the point for his elbows.

Castillo had a GREAT night, and his style posed problems for Floyd. But Mayweather most certainly dug down and pulled out the win. I don't see how anyone can say he bitched out.

Taking it one step further, Floyd may well have lost the first 4 rounds against Judah but he stepped up his game and may have had a chance to stop Judah if not for the long delay.

Mayweather certainly won't be folding at the sign of Hatton's pressure. Especially if they believe, as I do, that Hatton will tire and they will take over.

    Gatti was not "Shot"

some here picked him to win..

he was just "tooo big" and "too strong"

but Floyd busted him up worse than DLH did!!!

I don't really believe anyone here really thinks that even the DLH that FLoyd beat would not beat Hatton.

DLH would have KO'd Hatton that night
