Cotto, Clottey, Cintron x2, Lewis, Martinez

    vs

Crack cloud Whitaker, Oba Carr, Yori Campas, Hector Camacho, Mo Blocker

It's close. Close enough to make arguments pretty petty either way, actually, but I'd say Tony's wins are better.

If he didn't get caught using wraps, where common sense dictates that Mosley wouldn't be the first time he'd used them.

His entire resume is pretty much null and void to be honest.

If not for the wraps, then yeah, his wins are better.

Really, who is Trinidad's best win at 147? Carr? He's the only decent, prime WW there.

WE've been through this before. It's a pointless conversation.

You can't act like those wins are legit though.

You definitely can't give the Cotto win any gravitas. Just look at the fucking damage caused by some not very explosive punches.

Bar Cotto (which is the only one where an opponent suffered unusual facial injuries), you can't act like they're not. Neither of us can act like anything. It's pointless.

You seem like a man with at least a modicum of common sense. Though neither of us KNOW, we can use common sense and logic and determine the chances of the Mosley fight being the first are slim.

The Cotto fight seems obvious, but I would bet money the Cotto fight wasn't the first.

Though we don't know, at the very least there's a huge question mark over most of his wins, we can't just treat them like normal wins.

Every fight you add to the rap list the odds compound on themselves like an accumulator bet. I just don't think you can wrap your hands in plaster 10 fights running and not have somebody notice until the 11th time. I find that highly unfeasible. Once yes. Twice, probably. 3 times, maybe, 4 times, unlikely, 10 times statistically negligible.

But it's all conjecture. I think the Cotto win is pretty much a write off, but any further than that, I see no unusual facial damage and I see no more reason to write them off than not to. Margarito hardly touched Mosley, he didn't get fucked up there because his wraps got found out, he got fucked up because Mosley eats up Mexicans like fajitas.

Serous question: how many of Titos wins can be considered tainted? Not on the same level obviously but wasn't he caught wrapping illegally?

Can anyone else confirm? No offense Hex but you aren't exactly unbiased when it comes to PR boxers.

Yes and no. Not loaded like Plasterito, but basically illegal.

Tito's Sugar Daddy, Papa Trinidad, used to use excessive layers of compacted tape/gauze resulting in what some people said was a plaster of paris like construction.

Either way, he basically had bigger, more solid wraps than most boxers.

Thanks. Am I correct when I recall that he was first caught out in the Hopkins fight and forced to rewrap?

Thank you MWS. So the question remains: How many of Tito's wins can be considered tainted?

Before anyone goes off on a tangent: No I don't consider it as bad as Margarito. Not even close.

The facts are Hopkins and his team caught Tito's team putting tape directly on Tito's hands without gauze or something to that effect. Whatever it was it was an illegal procedure and gauze was supposed to be used beneath the tape first. At any rate Hops claimed the wrappings felt like a cast, but nobody else ever confirmed or denied the truth in that. Many have claimed the whole thing was done just to get in Tito's head so to be honest nobody really knows the extent to what the illegal wrapping technique used that night would do or if it's what caused Tito to have such powerful punches.

I'm willing to bet that there will be some type of hand wrapping issue when Manny/Shane hookup. What would happen if Brother Nazim makes Roach re-wrap Manny's hands and the power disappears like Tito's did. What would people say. I'll Holla 5000

I doubt it... keep in mind that Pacquiao's last fight had what I imagine was very strict wrapping rules, considering his opponment.

Tito inflicted unusual facial damage to Thiam, with what seemed like glancing blows.

Tito fucked up one of Thiam eye...and it started early in the fight with a left uppercut/left hook combo(i believe) right into that eye, that wobbled Thiam....there was NOTHING UNUSUAL about that...Trinidad targeted that eye for the remainder of that fight

it was unusually gruesome - wound inflicted. and although the shots were well placed (as you said an upper-cut/left-hook combo), the punches were so slow it was as if he were carrying 5 pound dumb bells in his hands.

If Pac is cheating, I doubt it will be handwrap related.
