    Good point and post.

    Marquez wins IMO though.

Actually, in 1993 when Juan Manuel began his career, I envisioned and picked that he would fight to a draw with Manny Pacquiao, who was to begin his career two years later....then decision him in the rematch.

    Go away.

    No setting up excuses, now.

If JMM wins, he gets major, legit credit.

    Hmmmm..... :tease:

To be serious i did pick Marquez to win the first fight by decision but i felt it would be a very close fight either way. I was shocked when Manny almost had him out in the first round. It was a great fight, and one of the few draws that i think were legitimate. People are never happy with draws, but i thought it was appropriate.

I would have picked Marquez in an immediate rematch. It never materialized mostly due to JMM's management. As a few years passed Pacquiao seemed to gain yet even another gear whereas Marquez appeared to plateau.. He was winning, but not very impressively. I still wanted to see a rematch, but i wouldn't have accused Pacquiao of "ducking" Marquez during that stretch.

I picked Barrera over Marquez by SD/MD.

I knew JMM was a better technical boxer, but Barrera could hold his own, and figured his "fire" in the exchanges would give him a slight edge. Marquez matched him that way and really showed some desire in that fight. Since then he's been more vocal about a rematch. It was nice to hear he really wanted rematch.

I think Marquez knows exactly what Manny can do and will be better equipped to "defuse" him this time around. It will still be a close fight though.

Manny knows what he can do as well because Marquez hasn't changed at all, instead he's fell off a notch.

I love qwerty. He is the best poster on this board bar none.

Qwerty, I expect a full and suitably incomprehensible celebratory post in the early hours if Pac comes through tonight, mind!
