I always found it interesting that Hatton refused to fight Witter. Even after witter won the WBC tittle, Hatton said he wouldn't fight him.

Witter is better than alot of the trash Hatton has faced in his carreer. It just seems like Hatton would go out of his way not to fight him. As far as I read that has always been a match up people in the UK has wanted to see.

Witter would be dangerous early on, but Hatton won't necessarily fight his normal fight, he'll be a little more cagey. The fight will still be fought at a harder pace than Witter is used to, and Hatton would come on very strong late.

Witter definitely has the counter-punching ability to give Ricky a lot of problems, and the power to go with it.

Hatton's trainer Billy Graham has repeated time and time again that he wants his fighter to stay at 140, and only move up to fight Mayweather because Floyd isn't a big Welter (and it is such a big fight).

Potential big money fights with Mosley/Cotto/DLH may keep Hatton at 147 but if he is to go down to his strongest fighting weight, surely the Witter fight is the biggest especially when you consider it is an all-british contest that could fill a stadium.....Hatton hasn't fought over here since he beat Maussa almost 2 years ago.

Hatton, should he go back to 140, is entitled to an easier fight in his 1st fight back after that brutal stoppage loss. Just to rebuild his confidence. But after that, he should really fight Witter. Much as I despise Witter, his KO of Harris makes him a legit threat at 140, plus he has a belt. The fight would be HUGE in England, and Ricky cant lay claim to being the best at 140 until he's proven w/o a doubt that he's the best junior welter in ENGLAND. So yes, he better fight Witter eventuially, or else it'll be clear he wants no parts of Witter.
