Personally I call it the Randy Couture factor. The UFC typically reports base salaries after fights. But they almost never report PPV revenue sharing or bonuses beyond Fight, Sub and KO of the night. Back when Randy Couture had his beef with the UFC pay and then came back, some of the details of his deal were reported. Part of that was his sliding scale of PPV revenue sharing (i.e. 100-200K buys and Randy gets $1 per buy; 200-300k buy and Randy gets $2 per buy and so on). People speculate that GSP has something similar. I would guess better... Beyond that, GSP said he gets about $5 mil per fight. But I have no idea what anyone actually makes in the UFC.
Already answered. Go back and look when I first brought it up. What is the point to not doing a poll?
There is no point in making a poll. I already know you have no clue what the UFC makes in order to determine if the fighters are over or under paid. No poll needs to tell me that. :dunno:
Not very confident in the persuasive value of your position, are you? What will the poll hurt? Your pride?
Mike, seriously dude.... Are you boulder dumb? This is a boxing site with several poster that absolutely hate MMA. Are you really thick enough to think a poll around here would yield a result worth a shit? :giggle: I've gotta great idea for a poll: "Who thinks Mike could tell the difference between his ass and a hole in the ground if there was a sign over the hole in the ground that says "NOT YOUR ASS MIKE"......
You dont get it tho. I dont need a poll to prove a fact. Fact is that you have no clue what the UFC pays in expenses. So you cant give me a proper figure on what a fighter like GSP should be making. I cant comfortably give you a number that i think GSP should be making without zuffa opening up it's books and letting me see their finances. But because it is a privately owned company they dont have to. And that is where it ends. This thread started with you thinking the reported payouts was the exact number these fighters make. You now know that isnt true and know that fighters like GSP make upwards of 5 mil or maybe even more based on PPV sales. Yet that still isnt enough for you. The truth is nothing will be enough for you. You have a company that is the fastest rising sport on the planet, being watched and enjoyed by many people. A company that EVERY MMA fighters wants to be a part of because of the benefits and pay, yet you still have a problem. It bothers you more than said fighters who bust their ass for years to get a chance to fight in the UFC. You can hate on dana all you want. And there is plenty of things to hate. But you cannot deny that if it wasnt for him, this company, this sport, these fighters would not be as big as it is today.
The people here are familiar with what boxers make. There is plenty of information about what UFC fighters make. If you want to explain away the validity of the poll after you get swamped, go for it. However, it was Anthony that bragged about winning this discussion (a few pages back) back on page 1 and the only thing he (and you) have done since that claim brought out mY request for a poll is backtrack like a bunch of pussies and make excuses for not backing up his claim. One of you could always post on a different mma based site to get a counter poll. Just make sure you make the options as suggested earlier.
Just because it is their best option doesn't mean it is fair or as good as it should be. The UFC is underpaying their fighters. Everyone knows this even if not everyone will admit it (that means you). The excuses put forth don't hold up to any type of scrutiny unless you want to be willfully blind. It's pretty obvious that you expect a poll to indicate this or you would have put one up. I'm sick of you pussing out. I'll put up a thread for this and we'll see.
So before this thread you thought GSP made a certain amount of money after this thread you know he makes 5 mil, but you expect people to vote in a poll without that information? A requirement to vote in that poll should be that they read this thread.
Mike, I'm just curious if you know what entry level boxers make? I am not taking a shot at you. But most entry level UFC fighters make around 5 grand a fight. sometimes more sometimes a little less. I know entryl evel pro boxers that make a couple hundred bucks. For real.
If that really is true, which we have no real way of knowing, then that money is legit, the same as most top boxers, but obviously short of the superstars of boxing like Pacquiao. If that is true then my lone gripe is the pay of mid tier guys like Cerrone.
Cerrone was mid tier once i believe. Before that he was bottom tier, fighting on facebook and shit. I think he will be back to bottom tier after that performance.
